Does his manager still commentate for Swedish TV? Would love to hear that tomorrow.

Yes (Eje Elgh). Watch him giggle. He says that Giedo more or less stole Ericsson's suit and climbed into the car without asking for permission. He also suggests that Giedo is merely doing what he is told, he is not acting on his own behalf. He hasn't been seen since his meeting with the stewards, obviously. For Sauber a solution seems close. Elgh seems calm. At about 6 minutes there's an interview with Kalterborn.

You Swedish can have him!

You can't blame VdG but it's sad for Ericsson as well. There are no winners here.

All this could have been avoided if they had taken Kobayashi last year.

Ericsson is driving the car.
They seem to be reaching an agreement. Wonder if the (Dutch) rumors of Boekhoorn (vdG father-in-law) buying into the team (or seeing his investment being turned into shares instead of a raceseat) being true.

I fail to see how that would have been better. Kobayashi doesn't bring a lot of cash, does he?

Everything is better with Kobayashi.

So with the VSC I guess we're going to see a lot less SC's? I don't really see the difference as in when you have to deploy the SC.

They will need it if they have to slow down the whole field everywhere, for example to bring in a truck with barrier replacement / the medical car / an ambulance that has to slowly go round the track.

Or, in a wackier way, if someone pulls a Diniz at Montreal '98 and scatters grass and dirt all around the racetrack, making the officials just call it a day and get the SC in instead of several yellows across the lap, lol.

Dutch sportscomic maker Toon van Driel made a nice comic on the vdGarde case

(Van der Garde arrived at the track in racingsuit)

He's saying VDG would be faster than the Sauber by just running on foot.

I get that.

I'm more wondering how he comes to the conclusion that the Sauber is a bad car.

In terms of car beauty, this is the most beautiful season since.....2009 maybe. I think it exceeds 2009 in terms of beauty. Too bad we still don't have a larger grid.
