Very odd and creepy to see that guy with the black overall and Senna helmet on the scene.

Maybe it's the driver of the Medical Car?

Helmet looks to have done it's job, looks in one piece and the visor is intact, i assume it's some blunt damage he has suffered to his head.

I thought the same - I was expecting there to be much more damage to the top of his helmet, although obviously we can't see the other side.

looking at the picture i would have assumed more a neck injury than a head injury, but that would have been fatal on the spot. I guess just a picture is not enough to make assumptions. But the fact that helmet looks still in one piece it's a good thing

Sorry, fixed now.

it looks like he hit the barrier with his nose and than bounced into the tractor with his back, stucking under it, for what it matters. looks also like it was at very high speed

This incident reminds me wat too much of the Vilota incident... You have to feel for a team like Marussia.

Shocking pic. I wonder if the helmet is cracked on the other side. From that point of view it looks intact.

Big moment for doctor Ian Roberts. I don't think Gary Hartstein never faced so bad accident as this even though many drivers have knocked unconscious. Also this isn't comparable to Massa's crash as the nature of impact isl quite different.

Shows the damage to the helmet more clearly. Warning.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

wonder if the scratchings on the top part of the front frame are the consequence of hitting the tyrewall or hitting the tractor

Oh my God. I just finished watching a replay of the race, commentators had no clue what had happened but I had my idea. Came here wishing that didn't get confirmed, hit hard by that picture.

Until then, the race was perfectly managed from a safety point of view, we had no major crash, then they had to go there and put a goddamned truck on the outside of the trickiest wet corner? Should've SC'ed that crap BEFORE the truck entered.

Or just fuck it, leave that bitch there until the end, under green. Way better to smash into it than in a truck.

I dunno, looking at the damage to the top of the nose plus possible damage to the right side of his helmet, I think more of the car may have gone under the tractor.

Plus with the amount of fans on the hill opposite, I'd expect someone filmed the impact, maybe there will be footage later.

Just watched the race and shocked with what's happened. Fingers crossed for Jules. John Booth must be ready to pack it all in now, two drivers being terribly injured in vaguely similar circumstances.

Stay strong Jules.

Not sure how this was the teams fault?

L'Equipe reporting that the operation has finished and he is not on life support, which sounds very positive

how should we interpret the course of things now? I mean, obviously we can't expect continuous updates, but when would it be right to know something more?
