Terminal engine failure after 4 laps? How old was that engine they gave to Susie?

Sounds entirely plausible to me.

Do we know if Williams tries to repair Susie's car for this FP1?

To shake things up I'll air an unpopular opinion: I like the new(ish) layout Silverstone run these days.
We've gained a lot more imo (2/3 overtaking spots) than we lost with a flat out acceleration zone that was Bridge corner.
Discuss.

I think the new Abbey corner is almost exactly the same as Bridge, just without the little dip on entry. It's also quite rare for the first corner of a circuit to be so fast, so I like that aspect (although it probably wasn't all that much different with the old starting grid). The new loop is an overtaking spot, but it does have a clumsy feel to it and doesn't really flow with the rest of the track. All that tarmac makes it look like it could be any new circuit.

So I'm not sure. I don't hate it, but I don't think it's better than it used to be.

I feel mixed about it, its an alright layout but I see highlights from the 80s and I feel a little cheated.

It makes me laugh when someone talks of the 'old' Silverstone, because the circuit has been tampered with so many times there really is no 'old' Silverstone unless you count the original track used in the 50's. If the 1990 circuit is the 'old' Silverstone, then what of the version used pre-Woodcote chicane(s)?

The 'old' Silverstone is technically the one used in '48.

Thank you. Perhaps you can post an onboard from the '48 GP so we can stop celebrating version 5 as the 'old' Silverstone?
