Goodbye Indian GP  Good ridance, no way this GP will return after 2014 if they go through with this shit. F1 should have never gone there, same with Korea.

Estoril was struggling financially. I think it was related to incomplete circuit upgrades too.

And that became the last race Jerez hosted after the towns mayor deciding he was more important than everybody else and presented the winning trophy when he wasn't meant to, much to the embarrassment of Mercedes, who paid to have a high-up man (I forget who, or his title) present the trophys to Mercedes drivers. So then the FIA decided no more races would be held at Jerez because of it. Even after they decided that punishment was harsh, they never went back.

Has that ever happened? It'd be the most depressing end to a championship possible.

It would be more depressing for Vettel than for the fans of F1 IMHO. It even be a good ending for the anti-Vettel camp. I mean, if it gets canceled, Vettel can't celebrate his 4th championship on track . Winning the race and thus the championship is much more rewardin for him than winning it because there aren't enough actual races left for his opponents to beat him.

Spa was cancelled shortly before its scheduled spring date in 1985. However, I don't know how long this was before the actual race.

It was moved to a later point in the season because everyone embraces Spa and likes going there.

They actually all turned up to the track which had been resurfaced with some "radical" surface I believe. Then it started to break up.

Practice did take part on the original date but they cancelled it on the Saturday I think and moved it to later in the season.

The 1985 season also had dramas over the South African GP which was almost cancelled due to apartheid. It was boycotted by some, but did take place.

I'm fine with the Indian GP being cancelled, as it means I won't have to see Alonso wear that fuck-awful self-absoring self-gratifying tribute to his own self-appointed greatness.

And then by the time we get to the next race the helmet will be less relevant as Vettel will be celebrating a 4th title, so who cares about overall points scored?

Don't worry, it'll only be another three or four years and Vettel will have that record too.

Paul di Resta will miss FP1 as he has Delhi Belly.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I saw the article about Di Resta being ill and immediately thought "but he's not Venezuelan".

Massa confirms talks with Williams.

If that were to happen then surely it's Pastor for the chop? They've invested way too much in Bottas and they see him as the future.

I think Maldonado or another Venezuelan stays in the team as long as PVDSA are putting money in, guess if that contracts now in doubt then massa could be in

So the courts want the organisers to pay 'entertainment taxes' for the 2012 event?

Bit ironic huh?

Why don't you try mounting the suspension upside-down again?

By "go radical in 2014 preparations" I hope it means "we're finally firing Whitmarsh and Michael like everyone wants us to do".

Does 'going radical' mean that Magnussen will be in the #6?

Going radical means not placating Button's ego and putting Magnussen in next to Perez, who like Gutierrez needs to be cut some slack by certain people ;)

quite funny actually, when he announced he was "leaving" Ferrari he made it sound like he already had another option.

Lets hope Frank is still sensible enought to steer clear of him though.

Perez is a funny one because he lacks the outright speed. I'm not sure if he's ever going to find it.

Back last year, when Ferrari tested both Perez and Bianchi, the word was that they were more impressed with Bianchi. At the time it was difficult to believe because Perez was taking podiums, but now it seems more understandable.

Perez has no racecraft and has average speed. His one great skill is in looking after the tyres.

If they want to keep Button happy they will keep Perez. Magnussen would end his career.

To be fair, when Perez was given the hurry up in Bahrain, he completely outclassed Jenson, in speed, overtaking, and frankly how he conducted himself. I was very disappointed in how Jenson reacted to being overtaken.
