Narain holds two unique records in British F3...

1) First Indian driver to win a round of the British F3 (1999 at Brands Hatch, when competing along with Jenson Button, Luciano Burti, Marc Hynes and a few others...)
2) First driver to take a win for a little known team (back then) called Carlin Motorsport

For all the stick he gets in F1, he was a capable driver in many junior formulas and not because he stuck around for many years.

Narain's a lot better than many give him credit for, although he was well and truly thumped by Pedro last year. Good enough to race at the back of the grid? Sure. But I'd be disappointed if he was given a seat at Force India.

Although I also give Chilton more credit than many around here :p

Well, his cheques are less likely to bounce than those of many other drivers in his position, which is a plus.

Looking forward to the BBC scrambling for excuses when he gets thrashed by Razia every weekend.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Yeah, I've never got the Chilton hate either as I've said before.

Yeah there's the whole rich daddy thing but that's not really his fault, nor do I detect much arrogance or hear of much off-track shenanigans compared to most drivers.

Obviously he won't be world champion but neither is he going to be embarrassingly bad either. If he's real lucky he can get a long enough career out of the sport in the midfield and then parlay that straight into a punditry role on SkysportsF1HUD in 20 years ago.
Big whoop....

But then this place is usually so negative it's a wonder it doesn't freeze over most of the time

In b4 "well, you can talk...." lol

I don't think anyone has a problem with him personally (apart from maybe Ian-S, although that's a different subject), it's simply the fact that he is, should Karthikeyan not take the second Force India seat, the least-qualified driver to be in F1, and there are a lot of other drivers who would be on the grid instead of him if their wallets were as big.

If it keeps Marussia alive, great (means Sirotkin can have his seat next year), but aside from that it's hardly a positive thing for F1.

I would rather see Sirotkin spend more time in the junior series. 5 years from now he'll be what, 22? There's time for him yet, he doesn't need to be thrown in at Marussia and have his talents forgotten about.

I like Alguersuari, but I don't see him at Force India.

I assume this is only referring to Max. If it isn't then that's fucking hilarious.

Yeah max. Maybe its just cos his brother steals the limelight in that regard lol.

Not that I care tooooo much about a drivers off track behaviour or indeed give much of a shit about any of them when they're not strapped into a racing car, bland pr machines they have to be these days.

Its not worth the effort to get angry about someone buying their way to a magnificent 20th place is all I'm saying ;)

Well, in the races yes. In qualifying I think Max could edge it.

But what if he wins WSbR this year? Then what does he do?

These are some strong terms which are formed by nothing more than assumptions. We've had this conversation before about this family. Hate is such an ugly word, yet something I know you're all too familiar with in respect of Mr Plato. ;)

If past FR3.5 winners are to go by, probably float around for a few years.

Is Sirotkin the driver that caused such anger in Monaco last year after acting as a launching pad for Conor Daly?

This, although I'll admit Max is far more grounded than his older brother, I wonder if becoming a Daddy will change Tom though? Reardless both have "bought" their success, they are not like Jenson Button or Seb who have natural talent and worked extremely hard to get where they are.

There are a number of reason why I don't like the Chilton family, most of it is on a personal level from years back before anybody outside of this little town had heard of the family - let's just say you don't get to where Daddy is by being nice to people, did I hear correctly that when Arena went belly up, he didn't pay the staff's wages? That's nothing new.
