There are also discussions about a street race in Naples
But the news is coming from Naples itself, so... and the mayor said no to the seafront location.

Mugello would be fun, long straights, fast turns, draft fest

It's a bad idea to go to Europe right now, imo

Probably, but if they go there I will try to persuade my dad to go there with me.

Everything that cost money is bad according to the team owners.

But that one in particular is a no brainer really. It's probably best to try and build up the popularity of the "new" series domestically first before trying to takeover the world (that really worked out well for CART didn't it?), especially with NASCAR having the problems they are at the moment.

I've often wondered whether the real problem with Indycar was TonyG or whether it was the people directly below him in the food chain, given the present desire for them to ignore the lessons learned of the previous managements fuckups (on both sides), you gotta ask yourself which idiot keeps coming up with these arsebrained ideas? cos it isn't TG at the moment.

I remember one of the main problems with Champ Car coming to Europe in 2007 was the lack of sponsor's interests. Most of them were based on the US market, and Indycar today is the same. I see no good coming out of this.

Ofcourse if they do come here, I'll do my best to join the fun, but still....

I think the real question is, of all the tracks in Europe, why a track designed for bikes?

I blame Dallara.

They should work on returning to Japan...and Australia.

Yes. They should return to Motegi.

Hell, Surfer's Paradise is a great choice as well, even if it's shortened (damn railroads).

If Indycar want to race in Europe, only 1 track should be considered: Spa.

Maybe Fiat are planning to join Indycar. If you want to make a Honda-Motegi type of connection for Mugello.

That was I was thinking.

The only way Mugello could work is if Ferrari build an engine for the series and drop a couple of Italians in. Bortolotti, anyone?

Oh great, yes Imola, a circuit with zero overtaking opportunities. Good idea.
