I'm still a big fan of the 1999 BAR

but this is probably one of my alltime favorites next to the 1991 7Up Jordan

Is that the alternate Ligier from Suzuka 1993? Where they ran different colour schemes on both cars? Not sure how they managed that, but in the Sega CD F1 game "Beyond The Limit", they actually have the Ligiers with different schemes in Japan (okay so it was just sprites but still, pretty impressive detail for a game of that era)

The 1999 Honda test mule grabbed a lot of headlines with it's testing pace right out of the box. But the majority of the F1 paddock were always highly suspicious that a car could be so quick so soon, and many have always believed that Honda simply ran the car underweight at most tests.

Yes thats true, but I do believe that they were a top 10 contender. Have to dust off my old Autosport mags to have a closer look, but I don't think there were doing a Prost circa 1999, topping the testing sheets to get sponsors.

Didn't they shout out in the winter before their first ever season that they were going for the championship? And eventually didn't score a single point in '99.

Correct. But BAR only said they were going for a win in the opening round of the championship, and that was purely on the basis that Reynard (who were building the BAR) had won each of the debut races in almost all series they had entered into in their history.

Honda should only return as a Engine manufacturer, not as a team! There are enough teams available that could get back to the top with Honda's money and engines, like Williams or Sauber.

It'd be good if Honda could get together with one of the teams at the back for 2014, but I think they've left it too late now. Ferrari, Mercedes, Renault have all been testing their engines for a long time.

That is, if Honda hasn't been testing theirs at all and them returning is still an option and not internally set in stone.

Although the W03 also appeared with a shark fin on the engine cover for the final day at Magny-Cours, AUTOSPORT has learned that this was not a performance development aimed to be raced this year but is instead part of an FIA-backed programme to help improve driver identification for fans.

 If you can't tell the driver by helmet or the colour of the T-cam bar, there's little hope for you. There's only two for each team!

Well it could help our Dutch commentator Olav Mol...

He is mixing up every freaking car even the obvious ones (noticed it again after being forced to watch RTL because the British don't want to pay more tax for my pleasure)!!!

After 5 minutes of Olav Mol I usually turn off the volume. I can't stand his commentary. He keeps going on and on about a little gimmick he has discovered that particular weekend and how it is working out. That's fine for a minute, but an entire race is too much.
