Perhaps I think too highly of the Chinese government.

Looking back through the Classic F1 selections on the BBC website, I've now noticed how stupidly long the back straight is here, probably for the first time in my life I'll say a straight is TOO long.

I won't take any DRS criticisms this weekend either, most overtakes on that back straight involve the car getting a slipstream from the car in front and clean driving past it before they reach the braking area.
I do agree DRS is needless here because with or without it, the cars are going to be driving past one another in a straight line.

I'd actually prefer if the DRS was on the start/finish straight, might make the outside line round turn 1 possible, which it never really has been before, but putting the DRS on the main straight is pretty pointless and is just too easy a target for those who say DRS just makes overtaking too easy when its too easy here anyway, at least on the back straight.

Agree.

I think that if DRS is to remain in its current form they need to start putting it in places that are not already the primary overtaking zone. I think that in most of the cases where DRS had made passing stupidly easy its been because its been located in a place where overtaking was already possible.

Looks like it's raining and therefore FPs might suck with few people going for the action

Someone get a picture of the diffuser on the back of the McLaren. Looks like a fucking cow catcher from a train or something.

Martin Whitmarsh tells BBC that Hamilton is still running the suspect gearbox today, which he says has a 'cracked component.'
