Well actually nothig because the onboard transmission system on location is being supplied by Gigawave. Tata Communication will provide the entire IT technology for F1.

Interesting tidbit from F1 Racing from Brundle: "What was frustrating me more and more [about the BBC] was that I felt we weren't telling the whole F1 story over a race weekend. There was banter and fun and lairy shirts"

Nothing massively new, just that he was planning to stay at the BBC, but felt they assumed he'd already left when he hadn't.

Meh, I used to love when the onboards cut out when a car passed below a bridge. :D

You have the right to express how you feel/felt when watching an onboard cutting out crossing a bridge :). That has nothing to do with previous posts or nowadays news. :D. Oh wait it's TBK...

Brundle can dress it up any way he wants, and I agree with him that it isn't about the money, but all he really means is "BBC wanted Jake to be the frontman and leading light of the coverage and I thought that it should be me. Sky said I would be their biggest star, so off I go...."

I don't think Martin could deal with the BBC not treating him like the star he seems to want to be.

Looking on the latest Sky advert, Martin is at the centre of the group, not the lead commentator, not the presenter of the coverage, not the token woman (Sky's usual approach) but him.

Some might say, fair enough, he's earned it by being insightful all these years, but I dunno, I think his ego is getting out of hand....

getting? it got out of hand in 1983 at Snetterton and hasn't gone back to the dark recesses of where it came from since.

Better Brundle being the focal point of coverage than the BBC's sports mercenary.

i think Sky are also giving him more freedom to do things outside of F1 (for instance, Le Mans).

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

That was already confirmed before the broadcast deal was announced though. Mainly to do with Le Mans not being on the same day as Canada any more than anything to do with broadcaster restrictions.

Yeah, but it's not just Le Mans.

I think Sky are giving Brundle a lot more freedom. I think he wants to race sportscars with his son on a much more frequent basis and Sky will allow that, whereas the BBC wouldn't. The BBC wouldn't allow him to take his yearly absence from Hungary, for example.

Looks like both BBC & Sky will make use of the fact that all team radio broadcasts will be available this season in their forums.

Well, running Le Mans isn't that simple. There are the test days and running from Wednesday. You can't turn up jet lagged from Canada and then just run at Le Mans. Plus he's said he's started a pretty tough training program too.

I am seriously considering converting to Sky as I received a letter from Virgin Media that my bill will go up £5 together with £44-£50 I pay a month.

Sky is cheaper with just the F1 channel, unlimited broadband and the basic phone package (as I am deaf and my girlfriend uses her mobile more) so....!!

A bit ironic that the BBC F1 magazine includes an advert for the Sky F1 channel.

Sky will take it's own analysis studio to 16 races. And the title song will be revealed soon.

I heard a rumour a while ago it was going to be "Just Drive" by Alistair Griffin, which I thought rather ironic considering he's Jake's best mate

But it was just a rumour...

Made a mistake, in order to get Eurosport. I have to buy the Sky Entertainment package at £20 with Eurosport at an extra fiver. So it is too expensive for me.

So no Sky unless someone will stump up the cash for or I win the lottery. Bah!
