If it's real and legit, my guess would be that whoever leaked it felt that the internal investigation cleared Horner when it "shouldn't" have. I know that still leaves the door wide open for subjectivity and/or more dishonesty from one or multiple parties. But, I can't really think of any other reason the information would be leaked (again, assuming the information is real and valid).

Has anyone seen the messages?

Doesn't the person who originally made the claim against Horner have the right to appeal? Surely if there was someone out there that believed the original investigation wrongfully cleared him then they would wait until the appeal was also dismissed?

Presumably now any of that "evidence" cannot be used in said appeal because it has been made available in a public domain?

It seems it's his PA based on those messages (That is if they are real), so whether he started treating her like shit because she rejected him is potentially something for someone to be aggrieved about

Sometimes companies have policies that forbid relationship between colleagues or people within a certain hierarchy. In another cases the these relationships are allowed but they need to be disclosed to HR. Or maybe the person could plead she was not comfortable to reject his approaches due to the power dynamic that lies in the relation.

In any case, it is terrible for Red Bull that this story went out while developing. Someone conveniently leaked the investigation was happening and then leaked the evidence.

And anyway, it does not look good on him, and tarnishes his reputation. Being a married man and fucking around with a subordinate looks too weak. And I really feel sorry his family that ends up being exposed like that.

I think the messages are likely to be a violation of HR policies but alone probably wouldn't warrant action against Horner. Where he's going to be in difficulty is if there's evidence he used his authority to negatively impact her if things soured between them

If there was evidence of that, it would have been leaked along with everything else.

This is very clearly someone on the Austrian side trying to pressure Horner to quit (or somehow compel the FIA to ban him) because the Thais have made it clear they will not sack him.
