The last time someone showed a sudden upturn in performance like this it was due to a "cracked" restrictor that was giving them more power (by cracked I mean physically, it had an actual crack in the housing).

Was it known to the team? As in the genuine answer, not the one they would naturally give to the stewards :D

It was a long time ago but iirc, it was known to them and done deliberately.

I remember hearing a story that one particular team put those restrictors under a lot of pressure to get microscopic cracks to them so it wouldn't be noticed. I think it was about two decades ago when this happened. The pressure that needed to be applied to restrictor was enormous but team claimed it to be accidental. :innocent:

I don't think Prema are doing anything dodgy, they're just very good at what they do. Eight consecutive teams' titles is proof of this. And it's not as if it's unheard of for drivers to go on a hot streak, especially in series where overtaking can be difficult.

Anyway, who cares what Ticktum thinks? He should consider himself very, very lucky to be in the position he's in. He deserves nothing of what he has.

He was also handed the win at Macau last year.

Maybe the car has been this good all season, it's just Schumacher has been choking for so long we never noticed... :whistling:

To be honest, I assumed it was something like this. Prema know how to win in F3, so it was a case of him figuring out which parts he was responsible for. I'd be surprised if he lost it from here.

Sometimes a young driver has a moment where it all clicks into gear for them and they end up a much better driver overall - not even form, but something more permanent. Vettel and Rosberg both had moments like that, both before and during their F1 careers. Paul Warwick's another one, although we never got to find out how good he could be. It's still possible Mick could be a very good driver - though I would agree it seems more like a good run of form and this series being terrible for overtaking at the moment

It is intriguing how Marko in particular is sticking with this driver when many other drivers of his who shat the bed in the same way in terms of performance got kicked

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

The Japanese F3 series is currently at Sugo. Unfortunately the stream only seems to be showing some CCTV cameras right now.

W Series has been announced, which will be a all-female series using Tatuus F3 cars. It will start in 2019 with races across Europe, with the series winner getting $500,000 in prize money. The series hopes to elevate more female drivers onto the professional racing front

I see Mick's run of poles has ended, but Ticktum's way down anyway so the title's as good as over regardless of that

Interesting tactics from the team, they realise the spotlight is on them so they back off a bit now the title is in their grasp
