Gow wants to reduce grid sizes but only through natural progression so no sign of the end of 32 car grids right now:

I understand what he's saying but I really cannot see six teams that don't deserve to be there right now. Things are so competitive that 20th-32nd are very quality cars. The days of starting on the back row and finishing in the top 10 are over. Put Ingram, Turkington, Neal or whoever on the back row and its asking a lot to even earn a single point.

How do they settle on this number of 26? Same for WTCR.

Ugh, no gow. Just no.

Unless you want to mandates oke promotion /relegation aspect between btcc and tcr, that'd be pretty cool :whistling:

I thought Gow wanted a second tier series with old(er) spec NGTC machinery? Promotion / relegation wouldn't work with TCR as there is no technical similarity. Maybe his "natural progression" is some teams scaling back from 3 or 4 cars to 2?

No more Rockingham next year, it's been replaced by a second Thruxton date.

Not even a mention in the article of Rockingham or why it has been dropped. Any guesses? Is Rockingham in trouble?

Kinda disappointing that in the first schedule change in years they haven't taken the opportunity to visit a new track.

The land Rock is built on had several proposals for it before it became a race track, it was going to be a new town, a theme park, and a leisure/business retail park, but because of problems with the land (high water table) all the ideas were scrapped since back in those days developers had some sense of responsibility over where they build things. But times have changed, Rockingham itself is so limited on it's operational days I'm surprised the place turns a profit, so as Philthy82 said it wouldn't surprise me if they're trying to offload it and iirc Corby is one of these councils so desperate for new housing they'll build anywhere, bit like ours that just put 500 on a flood plane that was under 5 foot of water 4 years ago. Obviously this is just my humble opinion, but you know, I wouldn't be surprised....

Being honest, if it's a choice between Mondello Park and Thruxton...I'm picking Thruxton every time.

Maybe the new Norn Iron circuit will be an option in the future if it gets built.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Castle Combe is a no go thanks to a few NIMBY's, only other choice would then be a street course.

Thanks, not sure how I missed that.

Thruxton is a good choice, although there could also be a second Silverstone race on a different circuit configuration, same for Donington and Mondello has been suggested a few times (although I was never a fan of the circuit). If I had a wishlist then Pembrey would be at the top.

I'm not sure there's anywhere else they can go - Castle Combe really isn't safe enough. I'm not sure Anglesey has the facilities and I don't think they want the expense of going over to Mondello Park in Ireland - are there any other suitable circuits in the UK?

Shoulda gone to Cadwell, that would have sorted the men from the boys.

Not surprised to see Rockingham drop off. I know LOTS of people that have decided to go to the DTM that weekend this year. Closed the open air stands and charging extra for the Rockinghjma Building has puit a lot of people off.

Rockingham killed it's biggest event, IMO.

Not sure what to think. It's sad to see Rockingham in trouble, but Thruxton is a very fun track (although not the best for spectators).
It would have been nice to see a different venue, but Cadwell, Mallory, Angelsey, and Castle Combe are probably lacking in facilities/safety.
I was never a huge fan of Mondello.
You could run a different layout at Silverstone, or the GP circuit at Donington, or even Knockhill in reverse.
Is Pembrey still operating?

Or get them around the streets of Birmingham.

The ironic thing is Cadwell and Mallory probably have better runoff areas now than Oulton.
