Regarding DRS. I want to see overtaking, but I don't want to see overtaking on the straight just because they are 50 kph faster because of DRS. It has to be a tiny bit difficult I guess. Otherwise there's no fun about watching overtaking. I think DRS how it is now is fine.

I don't mean this from a morbid or OMFG flipporz!!!!1!! point of view, i mean it as an engineering/safety improvement simulation. Lets say Gasly hit Hartley, for example. Where does the car end up? Did the fence hold up or does the design need to be changed? What was the damage to the car or injuries to the driver and what can we improve on safety wise? I hope I'm making sense with this one, I'm really not too familiar with to what extent the teams use their sims.

Short answer is no, your scenario is too complex to model.

Would we be able to do it in the future? Maybe. Long way off in the future, but maybe.

(I'm an engineer, don't judge me)

There has been a few incidents over the years that have proven that "Driven" is a truly accurate depiction of motorsport accidents. Get the physics engine they used.

they should get some consulting with Michael Bay regarding damage physics and so for their sims

Miami will vote on next week the decision of actively seeking to host an F1 GP in the city.

Yeah and all Michael Bay will do is dip into his stock footage and pull out stuff he's used in most of his films...

just ask Tilke to send the material since all his works are stock, you see once in one place, you see it everywhere F1 arrives

Where does it say that? I missed that part in the news article.
It wasn't in that article but it was noted in others I saw that the changes to the rear wing were done in part to create a larger DRS effect as the DRS flap will now be larger meaning more drag will be reduced when it opens.

F1TV will be launching in the next week:
https://performance-f1tv.formula1.com/

Something I noticed from the image on that page is that under the 2000 Australian Gp image it says:
"From start to finish the Australian Grand prix was chocked full of entertaining action. Here's are pick of the best - All from the drivers perspective of course."

Wording makes it seem like some sort of OnBoard highlights maybe? There were those 2 DVD reviews for the 2000/2001 seasons which featured OnBoard highlights so it could just be those.

Option to sign upto F1TV is now available in the account details section of the F1 website. There's a 10% off a 12 month subscription offer until the end of the month. As was previously stated the only way to sign up is via credit/debit card.

Also note that while you can signup since the service isn't actually launched yet I don't think you will be able to view anything so it's probably best to wait until the full launch during the next week before actually buying a subscription..... Which is actually very reasonably priced IMO.

Pricing & content for UK:

Germany:

In the US prices are $11.99/$89.99 for Pro & $2.99/$24.29 for access.

I also notice that some regions don't have the option for a month subscription. France for example only have a 12 month €170.99 a year sub for Pro.

Brazil won't have access to F1TV Pro but F1TV Access is listed as R$9.9 a month / R$80.91 a year.

This chart shows what will be available where:

I know, I'm just projecting for the upcoming years

about outrageous prices, they're also selling those scale F1 tires

The Access option has been working since the beginning of the season I think. I bought it before Bahrain GP.

I think it's a pretty okay price for what they bring: Live timing, live mapping plus extra team radios that are not featured on TV.

If those two straights are wide enough then it could prove good.

Cut the two big straights and we have a Formula E circuit. Anyway, Baku is not exactly a gorgeous layout in the world and has been providing great racing.

But this Miami layout does suck.

by checking street view is quite narrow and bumpy, they must do a lot of things to make a proper racetrack

and it's too long with no place for rescue vehicles, which can be trick if a crash happens

That Miami track looks interesting. Can't say its absolutely abhorrent, but it doesn't set the world alight either.

The FIA released the best of the race onboard from Azerbaijan. Things to note....KMag at the start was being a dick and it looks like Ericsson just drove straight into him as a pay back lol....and when I heard Alonso say that was probably the race of his life I thought yeah yeah Fernando sure....but he nearly binned it on the main straight and then he hit the pit wall because he couldn't steer. I can see what he meant when he said other drivers would have parked it.
