when the home team Pugs jumped ship after they won.

Wrong. Peugeot won in 2009. They only quit in early 2012 only weeks away from the 1st WEC race. This was the result of the financial situation of the parent company.
Thank you, I knew they jumped unexpectedly, but I certainly had my timeline wrong.

That is very impressive.

Could you explain what the graph is show my. I am trying to interpret and I can’t! I can see quite a gap between Alonso and the others but what it means?

The graph is showing each driver's fastest 100 laps over the course of the race in milliseconds, with the quickest on the left and the slowest on the right.

196,000 milliseconds = 3 minutes and 16 seconds.

It means that Buemi (green) was able to do a couple of amazingly fast laps, but only a couple and then his overall race pace was slower. Most of his lap times are similar to the other Toyota drivers so they are all equally matched.

And then there's Alonso. Not the fastest lap, but overall way faster than any other Toyota driver, much more consistent. The distance between the blue line and the others is getting bigger, which means that Alonso was able to do a lot more fast laps than the others.

I'm surprised about Kobayashi, this shows that he is the slowest of the 6.

OR he had a lot of slow zones.

The graph is telling me that there are 5 drivers who have driven a Toyota at Le Mans before and are treating it accordingly and 1 driver who hasn't and therefore doesn't have first-hand experience of what used to happen if you ran the Toyota at full chat for the whole of a stint.

Fortunately for him, Toyota spent the winter on reliability improvements instead of having to chase performance as before.

On the very right you definitely see some slow zones, but slow zoned laps were often over 4 minutes, shouldn't be an effect in laps between 1-80. 206000 ms in that graph is about 3:26.

Conditions otherwise vary though.
