They made it to the finish without breaking at least.

Thoroughly well deserved for Toyota.

Finally a Japanese winner since 1991. It was good to see the GT1 Pro battles from the start to the end.

Ah, the neverending "if they win, they quit, if they lose, they quit", but now the goal post literally moved forward. :whistling:

They have now shown more commitment than modern Porsche and they've been in the 2020 rules (https://imgur.com/a/VbloMW6) roundtable meetings.

I agree with that!

but it did make the race much less interesting compared to previous years. Not so long ago it seemed that many car makers wanted and did enter the series and the outlook was great, like Nissan, even though it were ill fated cars, it did make it interesting.

All the drama's we had with the Peugeot's, Toyota's etc

The question if Toyota would finally win did make it a bit interesting. But for next year I don't see the fun

oh well, we have to wait until the new regulations I guess.

I know everyone will focus on how Toyota made Very Sure that Alonso would win, but this is vindication for Nakajima after the tragedy of last year.

haha finally Toyota will win this and Alonso will just show up next week at Paul Ricard saying "no need to win in F1, I won a race that is a season in one day"
Would be epic! McLaren is still a joke in F1, better but still a joke. Literally nothing for him to prove. You can't win in F1 in a shit car without some major luck on your side, and that proves nothing about him as a driver. Indycar is where the competition is.

EXCELLENT point! I've ragged on them myself this year, but was reminded by RLM how Toyota stepped up and jumped in early when the home team Pugs jumped ship after they won. Suppose Toyota deserve their win from that standpoint.

Same here! Was personally cheering for the "Rothmans" car but my wife took to the Pink Pig and it was great seeing her joy when I told her that her car won its class. Now to get a diecast!

Again, all fair points.

Another great observation and it helps accept the team orders a little more.

An absolutely fair take on the race. All the people blaming Toyota for their commitment to the category can stay mad for all I care. Toyota won Le Mans and frankly IDGAF who wasn't there because they were good enough to win on multiple occasions

A few penalties were given out for drive time infractions. The one for the #67 Ford is pretty harsh.

Good Lord, a 44 minute penalty?

Although, with three drivers, why did Kanaan and Dixon drive so little?

Wrong. Peugeot won in 2009. They only quit in early 2012 only weeks away from the 1st WEC race. This was the result of the financial situation of the parent company.

I remember seeing something similar for one of the practices at the Indy 500 last year and Alonso was faster for longer during a stint, I'll post it if I can find it
