I haven't seen anything official, but all sorts of talk on Twitter and Reddit that he's broken both legs. Hopefully that isn't the case!

Weird how the lights on the car died just before he lost control. Some mechanical issue?

A journalistic acquaintance who is at Spa reported that he left the circuit in a road ambulance rather than the helicopter, so hopefully it isn't too serious. She did note that it took the medical team some time to get him out, and a lot of them were involved.

And right as the car compressed into the hill. It's almost like something electrical glitched out for a moment and fucked up some of the systems, because the lights flicked right back on when the car unloaded.

I saw similar tweets to what Dan mentioned. A couple have mentioned that one of the leg fractures is serious.

The gif in the tweet was pretty deceptive to my eyes. Real speed replay at the end of this vid really tells the story.

Damn, quite an impact there, hope he can recover soon

Christian also broke both legs on that crash at Surfer's Paradise in 1997

Pietro's father talked to brazilian site Grande Prêmio, and said pretty much this.

Quote:
The car had a similar problem at the tests. Now on quali, he was going very fast. The team had asked him to push the most on that lap to get the best time possible, but something happened and the brakes didn't work and he went straight. It was an electrical problem, a mechanical issue.

More news from Pietro's father.

Pietro had two fractures on the left leg and on the right leg he had a fracture and ankle ligaments torn. He underwent two surgeries and is recovering now.

That Ginetta thing kinda reminds me of Mastercard Lola, just not as dramatic.
