I've no idea, we don't even get coverage of them in the UK unless you subscribe to dedicated channels (similar to how HBO subs works for you) and we get no IMSA coverage at all. |

The availability of channels is completely irrelevant to me too as this deal isn't supposed to affect the international streaming, but it tells something about the general health of the series. IMSA was too often dumped to Fox Sports 2, partially or fully. Other complaint related to not pomoting the races much. NBC does a lot more of that, and they can do cross-promotion between IMSA, Indycar and Nascar (probably works best between IMSA and Indycar). The beginning of Indycar's Sonoma race shows Nascar > Indycar, but Indycar and IMSA shouldn't clash often in the future, so as long as IMSA gets 2nd class citizen treatment it is all good. Because based on the complaints over the years on Fox it seemed to be a 3rd class citizen. |

Historically, CNBC has been a larger channel than FS1, FS2 & NBCSN / just under ESPN and ESPN2 in terms of viewers. It was rated at 92 million back in 2015. It's primary use is for business / stock market reports during the afternoon with reality and sports on nights & weekends. CNBC was the cable home for ALMS during it's first few years before races started getting on Speedvision & other networks in the late 90's as well. The downsize with CNBC races is that it's not as promoted much compared to NBC / NBCSN / USA races where it leads in from NASCAR / IndyCar or other major sports like Premier League Soccer. Usually CNBC is the backup channel if there's a conflict with any of the bigger sports, F1 used to be on there for several races when it clashed with Premier League in the summer a few years back. - NOLAsport to make it's debut at the non-points race at Sebring next month as a test session for next year's Michelin Pilot Challenge season in GS https://racer.com/2018/10/26/nolasport- ... ar-encore/ |

Post subject: | 2019 IMSA Silly Season Discussion (NBC TV plans announced) |
NBC Sports has announced their television plans & full schedule for the 2019 IMSA racing season. Around 100 hours in total will be broadcast live across NBC, NBCSN, CNBC, and on the NBC Sports App / NBCSports.com website. All races will be flag-to-flag on the NBC Sports App / NBCSports.com. NBC has released a initial schedule, however this is subject to change given any other possible conflicts with other racing series & sports. Rolex 24 at Daytona will feature a season preview show, live broadcast of qualifying, and 18 hours of race coverage on NBCSN with the rest being on the NBC Sports App (due to conflicts in late afternoon / usual couple hour break for TV crews). 12 Hours of Sebring will have coverage starting on the NBC Sports App (assuming to due to conflicts with Premier League), with CNBC taking over in the early afternoon and NBCSN broadcasting the last 7 & half hours of coverage. Long Beach, Mid-Ohio & Detroit will be broadcast in full on NBCSN. Watkins Glen will feature live coverage on the NBC Sports App with television coverage slated for same day delay. NBC is slated to have Mosport with complete flag-to-flag coverage. Lime Rock & Road America will have live coverage on the NBC Sports App with the television broadcast on same day delay. The next 2 sprint length races will have flag-to-flag coverage on television, with VIR being on NBCSN & Laguna Seca on NBC. Petit LeMans will feature the race start on NBC for the first 3 hours, with the middle 3 hour stint on the NBC Sports App and the last 4 & a half on NBCSN. All support series will be broadcast live on IMSA.tv with the Michelin Pilot Challenge, Prototype Challenge & Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA being slated for delayed broadcast on NBCSN. - Present IMSA broadcast conflicts with other racing series on NBC networks could include: NASCAR Cup at Chicagoland (June 30 - IMSA race at WGI slated to same day delay due to conflict it appears) IndyCar at Iowa / NASCAR XFINITY at New Hampshire (July 20 - NXS race pushes IMSA at Lime Rock coverage to same day delay it appears. Night-time broadcast appears to be the plan, however I would guess the broadcast will change to whenever the IndyCar broadcast at Iowa finishes) NASCAR Cup at Watkins Glen (August 4 - IMSA race at Road America slated to same day delay due to conflict it appears) NASCAR Cup at Las Vegas (September 15 - IMSA race at Laguna Seca to run against it on TV) |

Kind of sad state of things if the best livery is a retro-fit livery designed 30 years ago. |
