Seems #1 Rebellion has an issue requiring an engine change.

Big crash for the #28

Red flag

That looks a strange crash. Come out of the chicane straight on into the barrier.

Well, unusual place to crash

Red flag, sister car to the #28 too. Just as they got that car back to the pits.

I can't listen. If you have Eurosport Player they have an "uninterrupted coverage" stream which uses the commentators from the WEC app (if you don't have Eurosport Player I realise this isn't very helpful, sorry)

it's not a stretch to say this is the weakest field in memory at Le Mans. Who the hell was that Dwight Merriman, zero motorsport credentials.

Endurance racing has become way too complicated with all these driver ratings and driver stint limits and refuel times and all that.

He's in IMSA, racing an LMP2. Saw him spinning of at Road Atlanta quite a few times a couple of weeks ago...

He's one of those that got a racing licence on the basis of having a fat wallet.

There's quite a lot of drivers like that in this years race. I've got the feeling they basically let everyone who wanted in to fill up the fill, and rightfully so to be honest. Could mean we see some more yellows during the race though, and with only 4 cars really fighting for the overall win it might come down to not getting hit by one of these guys

Prepare for the worse then and that the race suddenly has Eurosport (UK) comms... that happened last year despite fp/qual having no comms or WEC comms.

Too bad the feature to select audio track/commentary language isn't available now, that was introduced just before US Open and would probably also include a no comms track.

Ugh I'd completely forgotten about that. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen this year because I doubt there's going to be a RLM video feed to sync to.
