Penske confirms Newgarden for #2!

That means JPM is out of the team. He may be on to ECR or Foyt.

If Foyt then I'd expect that to be in place of Hawksworth.

Penske also confirmed that an Indy + sportscars offer was made to JPM. No response yet.

It really amazes me how boring tracks like Sonoma and Abu Dhabi get to host the last races. That's like all the TV series would have the cliffhanger build up for the 2nd last episode and the last episode would be about talking through the past year.

I mean, look at the build up!

March 12:St.Petrsburg - traditional season opener, not bad.
April 9:Long Beach - legendary stuff
April 23:Barber Motorsports Park - first roadie and it's a goodie.
April 29:Phoenix - first oval, get ready for the Indy
May 13:Grand Prix of Indianapolis - nice addition for the month of May
May 20:Indy 500 Qualifying Day 1 - building...it.
May 21:Indy 500 Qualifying Day 2 - ...up. building it up for The Indy500
May 28:Indy 500 - self-explanatory.
June 9:Iowa Speedway - should be the Mile, but OK, oval after Indy is a good re-match and paybacks.
June 16:Toronto - Time to visit Canada, great street course. Last street course of the season.
June 30:Mid-Ohio - Oh yeah.
August 20:Pocono - Oh hell yeah! Last 500 of the season.
August 26:Gateway - Legendary oval is back! Last oval of the season.
September 3:Watkins Glen - Ah, September in beautiful state of New York. Legendary road course. Great way to end the...wait...what? There's one more after this?
September 17:Sonoma - We end the season at here?! Again!?! WTF! And it's only mid-September!

Seriously, Indycar should add one more race to the calendar after this one. They should go to Mexico or Brazil or where ever. Heck, if they want to end the season on the US soil, there's plenty of good circuits still good to use in late September.

Wait a minute. Where's Road America from that list?!?!

OK, seems like Mitch'stbk24 had bogus list in the first post that he now has edited. Texas and Belle Isle were missing too, but for some reason I didn't notice that.

Just noticed this, but part of me hopes JPM goes to Foyt. Match made in hell. It'd be entertaining as fuck.

As far as the schedule goes: One step at a time. It's slowly getting better.

Although, I do agree that Sonoma is terrible for the finale.

No. Target is already gone from Indycar. 2016 was their last year. They made quite a big deal out of it...........
