I wonder if Toyota's GT3 program with Vasser/Sullivan has anything to do with this

Probably not. Some are saying that Ferrucci would move to the Vasser/Sullivan entry.

I think it's about manufacturer points. They lost the championship so they're probably cutting off some support in the lesser teams.

Coyne is the (current) worst overall full-time Honda team. Andretti had 2 terrible entries, but 2 decent ones. And the SPM entry is a Chevrolet now.

Ferrucci would have the funds to pay for the engine leases to HPD or Illmor

I've heard a rumor that Honda has cut all ties with Coyne - which would make sense if Vasser / Sullivan stays as they are a factory Toyota effort now in IMSA (and getting Kyle Busch a ride at the 24)

if that's the case, I could see them using those engine leases to help Hinch out (couldn't before hand as they were filled up with Shank going full time)

One article I read had pointed out that Coyne scored zero manufacturer points last season. Not just Bourdais but the team as a whole.

Pruett has intimated on his podcast that the first in line for Bourdais' seat is Sergio Sette Camara. He then wrote a piece for RACER with a similar effect;

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

As part of their increased exposure with McLaren, BAT will have a presence on the SPAM cars next year.

During qualifying for the Abu Dhabi GP this weekend, Alonso said he would be back at Indy for 2020. I guess that means Hinch won't be racing at indy this year, at least for McLaren.

sounds like the Silver Crown cars won't be able to race on IndyCar weekend at Gateway due to conflicts with the Springfield Mile date - according to this: Gateway was lobbying a Sunday race at Springfield for the Crown cars but it was a no-go with the ARCA race scheduled on that date

Coyne admits to a shortlist of 4, with one of them a secret.

https://www.motorsport.com/indycar/news ... t/4606020/

Also confirms that if\when Ferrucci signs a new contract he will remain with his engineer and Hampson will work with whoever ends up in the #18.

Mailbag gossip;

-The mooted 3rd RLLR car has been revived as a possibility with Hinch as the driver.
-Seabass is a contender with Kimball to share the #14 with TK, who will do the ovals.
-Dalton Kellet is first in line for the #4.
-Affirmation of Sette Camara\Palou in the frame for the #18 as well as Daly potentially sharing Special Ed's car.
-The other driver in the #20 should be revealed this week.

Daly will share the #20 as well as drive the third ECR car at the 500.

Good choice.

And a great ride for Conor in the 500. Those ECR are always stupidly fast in qualifying.
