Pigot gone from ECR, van Kalmthout set to take his place.

https://racer.com/2019/11/14/pigot-out-at-ecr/

The article mentions Daly as a candidate for the car share but he lost his USAF money today.

As loosely mentioned by Marshall Pruett on his podcast, and today by National Speed Sport News:

Sounds like SCRAMP is being push out of Laguna Seca

The now-former track promoter of many years

I just hope the new promoter has good intentions for the track

Apparently Indycar and IMS wasn't enough and now Penske is now trying to buy Mercedes F1?!?

This could get interesting.

Special Ed rules out the Hulk sharing his ride - the occupant should be revealed next week or the week after.

There may be an announcement regarding van Kalmthout in the #21 tomorrow.

A&D Nargi has been named as the new promoter of Laguna Seca
https://racer.com/2019/11/19/monterey-c ... a-manager/

-

Marshall Pruett (a local to the Bay Area) and Ryan Kish put this article together - showing how all of this was started, the 3 contenders before the vote (Nargi, SCRAMP and Chris Pook), and some underlying things.
https://racer.com/2019/11/19/insight-mo ... unty-sham/

-

I hope I'm wrong, but I'd say IndyCar will be back to a street race, Sonoma, or if pigs fly a new track / upgraded venue if it wants to stay in the Bay Area soon tbh

That is a great article from Pruett. They've got a mess out there. Reading the comments, it appears that Narigi is going to keep the current SCRAMP leadership in place to actually run the place, he's just going to draw a salary from the County in return for his campaign contributions to the various members of the Monterey Board of Supervisors.

Maybe corruption and the track can coexist. Really the only hope for it at this point.

Bring back the San Jose race! It's only about 25 miles up the freeway from me haha. Sort of related, does anyone know if they will be pre-season testing at Laguna Seca again? My dad and I had a blast last year, even with the rain cutting the day short.

Spring Training was supposed to be at CoTA again according to Marshall Pruett's podcast a few weeks ago - not sure if that's still the case given the likely repave project for F1 & MotoGP

Homestead hosts spring training for the Road to Indy once again on the road course (Lights sometimes runs the ovals as well)

I recall hearing that Richmond will have a big promoter / tire test

no idea on Laguna or Sonoma, but teams always go to test up there in the winter (pretty much the only feasible places besides those 2 is Sebring, Homestead, CoTA, Barber & Texas)

-

usually once the new year hits, there's usually a schedule of testing somewhere posted for both public & private deals

Bourdais out as Coyne needs someone with money.

If Bourdais' out at Coyne for lack of funding, I can't see him getting on any seat that may also require money (like the possible 3rd Rahal entry).

Jenna Fryer claims that he'll go to IMSA racing full time.

Something about Honda pulling their engine support @ Coyne.
