Dixon fastest but they only got about 50 minutes of the 2 scheduled hours. Torrential downpour just arrived out of nowhere and soaked the track instantly.

Will try to get the post updated tomorrow, family back in the hospital again. Just glad I got these up on Wednesday & didn't forget until Friday like last week

Hoping it's a better race this year, but the banking in turn 1 & 2 doesn't give me alot of hope in terms of passing (especially compared to the other superspeedways)

On the NBC Gold broadcast they talked a little bit about the new tire compound Firestone brought for this year's race. Apparently the issue with the new surface the last couple years was that the tires were not wearing enough, but just building up heat and blistering. So the goal with the new compound is to get more wear to dissipate the heat. In any case, I think more degradation could be fantastic if it works as expected, hopefully cancelling out some of the aero-wash that makes racing in T1/T2 almost impossible.

I recall there being a lot of tire falloff in the 2012 race, which completely kicked ass.

Agreed Chris. Tire fall off creates all sorts of opportunities for passing due to the varying strategies.

I've always felt that this indycars going through that "double-apex" tri-oval thingy, it's borderline mental.

Michael needs to put Marco's oval car into retirement & get him a new one

that car has had something evil in it since Carb Day - only 206 MPH
