(hey does anybody seriously think NBC broadcasting Indycar & NASCAR is going to be good for Indycar?)

Yes, given the facts that they actually promote the series & at least have the races moved to a other channel / app instead of what ABC did for a NASCAR race in 2014 where it was blacked out fully for 100 something laps, or what ESPN would do with tape-delay NHRA coverage being pre-empted for tape delayed poker tournaments, or FOX pre-empting a WEC race that was on FS2 at 3:30 in the damn morning

the situation wouldn't of been bad if it was just said & promoted that it was on CNBC from the start instead of switching back & forth. Wouldn't of pissed off & confused as many fans on either side that way. Having only 30 minutes of post-race for a NASCAR race before another race is always going to cause trouble also

It appears that there won't be any motorsport conflicts for the season finale at Laguna Seca with the present schedules. IMSA however will have the same exact conflict however.

July 20:
- IndyCar at Iowa (night race - starting at 8:00PM ET / doesn't conflict with other 2 events)
- IMSA IWSC at Lime Rock (day race - broadcast slated for NBCSN)
- NASCAR XFINITY at New Hampshire (day race)

July 28:
- IndyCar at Mid-Ohio (usually on CNBC to avoid conflicts, but more options available with NBC open for races in 2019)
- NASCAR Cup at Pocono

August 4:
- IMSA IWSC at Road America (slated for NBCSN broadcast - usually starts before or after Cup race so it doesn't conflict)
- NASCAR Cup at Watkins Glen

August 24:
- IndyCar at Gateway (night race / doesn't conflict with other event with time)
- NASCAR XFINITY at Road America

September 1:
- IndyCar at Portland (day race / doesn't conflict on time)
- NASCAR Cup at Darlington (night race / doesn't conflict on time)

September 15:
- IMSA IWSC at Laguna Seca (day race / slated for NBC broadcast)
- NASCAR Cup at Las Vegas (day race / NBCSN?)

if Nascar race was at east coast that wouldn't be too much of an issue

funny that even 50 years after the Heidi Bowl, they still try to replicate that moment

Eh, somewhat relevant -- the "Heidi game" is, of course, the old US football game where the last minute of the game was not shown because it ran long. A a made for TV film was scheduled right afterwards and NBC decided to play that instead.

The difference, of course, is that the NASCAR race ran long largely due to their joke ruleset with their red flags and overtimes and invisibris / competition / random crap cautions. At least the NBCSN feed had the decency to switch to Indycar briefly while that last unnecessary red flag was going on.

IndyCar has uploaded the full broadcast, as run on the NBC Sports App without switchovers
