I wonder why they don't want to take the turn? I mean, by the end of the month they'll be going there at 230mph in a pack, in those same cars

Unless the track is also used for other events like motorbikes or something?

The track was used for MotoGP before this race, which originally created that corner, but it was re-profiled for cars at the request of a few IndyCar drivers before the GP was added on the schedule. The corner can be used in either form regardless (SCCA still used the original carousel section before Hulman Blvd. for the Runoffs last year).

In total I think there's 4 or 5 layouts that could be used in full (3 or so for cars, 2 for bikes), plus the extra layouts for the recently added karting race & the old Stadium Super Truck race.

The corners inside the banking add an extra passing spot and the cars can still tow down to T1 quite well.

Why do they run this race on a Saturday? Is that a TV thing?

That'll fuck me up from watching it live but I hope to watch it somehow....

I think it's so they have Sunday to convert the track back into oval spec before the "Month of May" properly starts on the Monday.

It would be nice to have 30+ drivers doing this race as well. No extra transport costs. Drivers already at the circuit. I guess some teams only have the oval package, or want to save their cars.
Still, 24 is a nice healthy grid.

There is a LOT going on this weekend

ATM we have practice for F1, Indycar, Nurburgring 24, Pau and Monaco Historique all happening at once

Obviously, this is all the BTCC's fault :p

Not today it seems

Reddit streams thread just says "monaco TV" but they're not showing track action today, at least.

Celis switched his entire budget to that one-off Road America effort so he's done wasting his time in the Lights.

Listening to Stefan Wilson speak is rather confusing, his accent goes in and out of a British and American one
