And Thor starting it, to boot.

I wanted to respond on this before the race with saying that I don't care who wins, as long as it isn't that schmuck Will Power. But I was too busy finishing my dinner before the start and didn't do it.

I don't know what I have against Will Power, I just really don't like him.

Apart from that, very disappointing Indy 500. The previous years had been so brilliant that I was smiling for days, this race was at some times a procession worthy of Monaco. Not a good race day today.

Show me respect?

That's a really fucking weird thing to say when you've just won america's greatest race, but I guess that's what 500 miles of hard racing can do to you

Ok, yeah, Will Power is a douchebag. I backed off him earlier, but seriously, F that guy.

Schumacher, one of the most self centered and calculating drivers (I am a huge fan so I can say that) wins his first title at Ferrari and is on the radio screaming WE did it. Will Power, an asshole driving for the best team who has a knack for failing to seal the deal, wins the 500 and says Respect ME motherf*cker?

Riiiight.

And as my wife just pointed out, sure, maybe he had his tongue firmly in his cheek. Still not a good look based on that example I just gave.

He's always been somewhat of a douche but I'm sure the adrenaline exacerbated all of the douchiness into a concentrated form which is clearly shown in his quote. I don't blame him at all though. He dominated the race despite Special Ed leading the most laps and won purely on merit. He didn't need any bullshit fiasco to win.

I would have thought people would be more happy to hear actual unfiltered emotion in a winner, than criticise them for the words that come out during that emotion. How many times have you said something stupid when you were overwhelmed?

But this is a forum where most people seem to prefer wreckfests with random winners than contests where driving ability makes the difference, so I don't know why I'm surprised.

Yeah, people can be such a douche to the drivers. Oh, you have the title, but no 500, or you have the 500 but no title.

Now the douchebags have one less argument to be douching about. Not that it matter in the end, if you want, you can always find a negative aspect to feel superior in a way, even though most of the time people who talk shit about others say much more about how themselves are full of crap than what they want to actually talk about, whatever....

But boy, was he lifting a weight off his shoulders? Power surely pursued this 500 for a long time, it's always nice to see it happening after that.

Can I just say I've always liked Will Power? He's a great driver and off the track, a really cool guy.

Will Power is fun, that's important. If he drove for an underdog team, y'all would love him.

The Power haters simply don't know what Indy means

Gotta say, I thought he'll never do it but I'm really glad he did.

If you watch the full version, which I uploaded here, you'll hear it's not just Will appearing to be a dick, I think they were just so overwhelmed they're mouths were just running away without thoughts, even Roger himself gets a bit excited and Will can't believe it....

On Twitter today or yesterday Will Buxton said he used to think Power was ‘a bit of dick’. Obviously he doesn’t anymore. I used to have an irrational dislike for him as I’m sure some will remember. I’ve been a fan for a good number of years now and am glad he won yesterday. It was well deserved.

Race was ok, kinda wish the cars could close up a little bit better than they could yesterday. Not going to miss ABC doing the 500. Bestwick is fine but Goodyear and Cheever are unbearable to listen to.

Things you don't want to be told during the 500; '5-wide'.
