Yay for Leist, his hometown is a 30min drive from my house. First RS state born to make it to Indy. Now Indy just got way more interesting.

I know we (Well, I) usually joke about it for DEGA, but damn, where is the start finish line at this track?

Due to the combination of the radio commentary and the tv pictures I have no idea if the timing line was before the hairpin or not, it seemed that the cars were able to set pole and then pull straight into the pits
(Unless the radio comms was a lap behind :p )

IIRC the qualifying line is either just before or just after the hairpin so that they don't have to do a full in-lap.

For those who were curious, it seems both Rossi and Andretti were penalised for blocking.

IndyCar has gotten their new aero package right. That car looks so beautiful. Now imagine, if the rumors are true, those cars with about 200 more horsepower. Yow.

From what I've been reading though, most people here won't like how that horsepower is generated

But fuck em, more power argh argh argh argh

If it's electronic, might bring a lot of manufacturers interest. :)

It's a beautiful car and it's gonna be an awesome season for sure.

But I can't help and nitpick the digital # near the roll hoop. It doesn't jive with the rest of the car. Also, the winglets in front of the rear wheels are a bit unsightly. Other than those two grievances, the car is perfect. Can't wait to have more horsepower and hopefully a throatier engine sound. :excited:

I don't think anyone was expecting an extra 2 cylinders and an extra 800cc capacity.

By the same token, I don't think anyone has a problem with a hybrid element to the engine as long as it doesn't proliferate into the glorified tractor engine that Formula Liberty mandates.

Seeing as how Indycar has made it clear that they want the engines to be louder any hybrid element will be tempered with other measures to improve the sound.

Judging by that tyre mark, the reason the banner is coming off the wall is because someone scraped the wall there.

So if my calculations are correct the Indycar race should start in about 1 hour and 20 minutes?

Something like that. Probably a smidge later.
