Worth reading some of Alex Lloyd's tweets about this race.

Have a feeling most of the drivers are going to feel the same.

10/10 race

Until the first or second caution, sure. Indy was a 10/10.. As it ended today, no way. We (as in Briscoe, RHR, Sato and Power) got lucky today.

If we can get the 2nd half of the tire stint all the way, then the race could be perfect. Now it is very resembling to pack racing for 1/3rd of a stint, kind of pack racing for 1/3rd and then not pack racing for the last 3rd. ANY pack racing is too much.

As said very early in this thread: get the cornering speeds down by lessening the downforce! Then add power.

Points deduction and a fine. It wasn't Rahal's fault, should be allowed to keep the win.

If they just tweak this package a bit it would be perfect. After the first 15 - 20 laps they were spread out more and that's what they should aim for. After the restarts it was a bit too crazy, and some drivers like Kanaan made it dangerous with those agressive chops in front of other drivers

They already tried that and it didn't work (well the taking down force off part).

This was the best oval race in years.

You're a dumb person.

Ed Carpenter "I love close @IndyCar racing. Hate to see drivers bad mouthing a series. If you want to race, race. If not, retire."

I seem to recall Ed bad mouthing Texas 2012 while everyone else was praising it.

Ed seems to be the only person that likes racing in a pack.

I admire his racing mentality and bravery, but what we saw today was a little bit too close to the old pack racing. I like that the cars could draft up on each other and actually overtake, but there were simply too many cars too tightly packed. As was mentioned earlier, we need somewhere in the middle.

I did enjoy the race, but I was very nervous a lot of the time. I don't think I can handle another one!

Could a happy medium between safety and excitement be something akin to the old hanford device? Would something like that be possible with these cars?

Oh look, another moaning driver, we then goto the next interview and new driver complains about original moaning driver not holding his line....

Texas 2012 was the worst oval race ever tbh, Ed was right to complain about it.

The last 10 laps of a fuel stint today, so sure.

2012? It was the race where they took so much down force off the cars they couldn't even follow another after 2 laps and a couple crashed all by themselves because the cars just spun while cruising due to the lack of downforce.

Or are you talking about the first bit? Montoya was moaning about how dangerous it was, then they interviewed RHR and he goes 'crashed was caused by Montoya weaving all over road' (kinda paraphrasing there), as I said the guys moaning need to go look at their own actions during the race first before pointing the finger of blame elsewhere.
