Villenueve can fuck off. I originally said that in 1997 and 18 years later maintain it.

Gordon Kimball has said the aerokits will hurt the racing. Not surprising. Hope it's worth it but not really seeing how right now as this will only give the super teams another way to stay ahead of the smaller teams.

I actually can't see these tower wings on the frontwing surviving any first lap...

Maybe it's the maximum downforce aerokit and the series will keep regulating what can be used in what races? There's a huge amount of drag/downforce from that setup, I don't think it's very useful or a problem on the most of the circuits. However, increased cornering speeds never help overtaking or following another car...

Nice bits on the sidepods to cut tyres too.

As discussed in November 2013...

Do we though? I've always been a supporter of the need for aero-packages but I'm starting to think different. It has been 2 years and right now the racing is great, plus the midfield team are also fighting with the big players.

If aero-packages come in, all I see happening is the performance gap will widen. The quickest teams will simply get quicker.

My thoughts exactly. I like the fact that there's not much teams can do with aero right now. It's why you see more unexpected winners with the car as it's made it more about mechanical grip and the driver.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for innovation and variety like AOWR's golden days but this is not the time for it for Indycar. They have to keep the racing exciting while trying to make its personalities more popular to the general public like NASCAR does.

Don't really like it & as has been said already I'm not sure this is going to be good for the racing :(

I've always been worried about the aero kits creating more dirty air and making it harder to follow another car in the corners. Indycar has a pretty good on track product as it is. The series just needs to be run a hell of a lot better.

NASCAR have gone with the higher downforce packages and are setting new qualifying records, but once you see how terribly boring the racing is on the faster circuits, I don't really care so much about the speed. Indy would be a great place to break some speed records, but I'm not hugely fussed about them going any faster on the road courses and smaller ovals.

Some good news then (-ish): Sage Karam is confirmed for St. Pete, but nothing on beyond that. Hopefully a bigger program is in the works.

It looks like they looted the crash site of Kubica's Canada shunt, painted the bits blue and went mental with the Araldite.
