Since that article came out, I have heard that the Boston Herald is a not-terribly-trustworthy tabloid, whose reporting accuracy is kind of on the lines of, say, the New York Post. Or the Daily Heil in the UK.

I've also heard Boston politics is all sorts of fun. I guess there's *some* fun interest that doesn't really want Indycar in Boston, but that's probably expected. It's probably a bit too early for the Chicken Littles I'm seeing in forums and comment sections though...

Honda gets aero relief.
Quote:
Following wind tunnel comparisons between the Honda of Graham Rahal and the Chevrolet of champion Scott Dixon, IndyCar determined there was enough of a chasm to enforce aero kit Rule 9.3, which allows relief to either manufacturer if the competitive balance is thought to be detrimental to the series.

Isn't Davey Hamilton still looking for a team to partner up with, with all his equipment and some sponsorship, or has that ship sailed?

Quote:
Chip Ganassi, owner of the Ganassi team that ran Scott Dixon to the 2015 IndyCar title, was among those quick to giving Frye their backing.

"Jay Frye brings an exceptional resume, tireless work ethic and proven ability to produce results to his new role with IndyCar," said Ganassi.

"During our years competing against each other in NASCAR, I witnessed firsthand Jay's ability to successfully run a top-notch organisation."

That's bad news if Ganassi is the head cheerleader.

Ganassi and Penske both know him well from the NASCAR days, considering he ran MB2 and Red Bull Racing. I think he will do a good job overall, he was the guy that got Phoenix back in IndyCar (as well as possibly opening the door for other ISC/NASCAR owned tracks, such as Richmond or Watkins Glen)

IndyCar add tethers to rear wheel guards, main beam of the rear wing and, on 1.5m+ speedways, the nose box. They are also implementing flaps on the bodywork to help reduce the likelihood of cars getting airborne.

Too little too late, even the most casual fan could see the need for them two years ago (ten in the case of the flaps).

That Calgary race sounds cool. More short tracks the better!

it would be a street circuit event near the oval. Doubt they would pave the harness racing track (however they should test a current spec IndyCar on a dirt oval for the hell of it, just to see what would happen).
