I look forward to hearing from Power how this race win was unfair and Indycar should bring in the VSC

You know....for consistency

When there's Chilton, there's no need for additional yakety sax

This was a good race, although dull by IndyCar standards and I don't mean that in a yakety sax kind of way.

I'm always surprised by the low number of posts in an Indycar thread, if we'd had as much actions as we've had even today, in a F1 thread this forum would implode.

Anyway, happy for Hinch.

Indycar drivers are way too good at giving each other room and racing responsibly. Whatever happened to divebombing like a maniac from 20 meters behind, as well as blindly turning in like your family owns the racetrack?

That was a classic Indycar street race, and not in a very good way. Power is redeeming himself these last few races, but Dixon got seriously shafted. Like's so common in these races. This track has really deteriorated lately, can't remember Toronto looking so shabby (the track I mean). Almost as bad as Belle Isle a few years ago, or Houston. Bring on Watkins Glen.

I was hoping Hawksworth could hang on to a good result in this one. Unfortunately, he didn't. I really want to see Chilton as the lowest-placed full-time driver in the standings at the end of the season.

That's racing. Dixon knows fortune can giveth and fortune can taketh awayeth

He's experienced enough to know luck is a part of racing as much as anything else..

Apparently Dixon left the track without talking.

Feels like that alone should add 2 points onto the race rating

Personally I'd say him getting caught out by the caution is karma for Mid-Ohio last year. Everyone knows that was done on purpose.

Does Chilton do anything to deserve so much hatred, apart from being a mediocre but rich driver? He doesn't seem to have the type of obnoxious Anthyony Davidson-esque attitude to him.

Hardly a fair comparison @

. For a start Davidson was a successful karter with a good reputation before he moved into Formula Ford. Davidson also had a decent junior Formula career but fell short of funds. In his only season of F3 he was team mate to Sato and put in some great performances despite having inferior Mugen-Honda equipment compared to Taku. Yes he comes across as a bit obnoxious but he's actually a decent guy.

If you ignore the Chilton name and who he's related to, there is still a lot to dislike. There was fanfare and hype created prior to his his first single seater race (British F3). Then there's the fact he's had the best equipment and teams afforded to him in both F3 and GP2 and yet amassed the grand total of diddly-squat during those years. And yet despite his mediocre credentials he lands an F1 drive and more positive PR is created for finishing every race last and being the slowest on the race track.

If Max either had a decent personality or some success then he would be more popular than he is. But instead he's vanilla and has been on the receiving end of the best equipment in 6-7 of his 10 active years as a racing driver. 1 win in 62 F3 races, 2 wins in 62 GP2 races and 1 win in Indy Lights is what he has to show for all that.
