Alpha Tauri successor team is also interested in Palou given indycar is becoming the new hot bed for drivers with superlicense to burn their careers in toxic environments

Second that, given he's mentioned Alpha Tauri, of all the toxic environments out there

Yea, that's obvious, but you eluded to Indycar being toxic?

nope, I was meaning about F1. Indycar is quite a breeze in comparison

Palou/Lawson combo would presumably bring some excitement into the midfield. No offense but the crop of Tsunodas, Zhous and Bottases driving around 10th-13th places has gotten quite boring. You can excuse the vets for showing little spark and I can understand why keeping the car in one piece is paramount but given how predictable F1 has become up front, I wouldn't mind a spicy addition to the grid.

That would be a pretty epic combo indeed

It's a shame Harvey left Meyer-Shank as he was preforming miracles with that team

It always seemed to me Harvey was lured where he thought or was promised the grass was greener and for him at least it was not. He should have had patience and stayed at MSR and build that team. I see him as a one of the Indy only from now on, unfortunately

The third article on Silly Season in 2 weeks from Pruett.

https://racer.com/2023/08/16/indycar-si ... ede-it-is/

tl;dr
-Floyd will keep his current geographical balance, but the Swedish element will look different. Lundqvist should be confirmed in the #8 very shortly, and Armstrong also looks set to have his schedule filled out.
-Ericsson is still likely headed to Andretti.
-MSR have options to consider for Pagenaud's seat - they do not want a pair of rookies. They can stay with Pagenaud and give him the benefit of the doubt, but they are also considering Colin Braun (who would be an Indycar rookie but has plenty of top-level IMSA experience) and Rosenqvist.
-FRosen's expected destination is still the #30, but this is not assured - the fact that the team are trying out a pair of rookies at the final 2 races suggests that no decision has been made.
-Malukas should have an announcement soon
-There are ongoing negotiations between a number of teams regarding cooperation.

DeFrancesco's value has gone up after his performance at IMS. 4 teams (ECR, DCR, JHR and Foyt) are taking a look.

With one domino now fallen, Pruett again appraises the rest of Silly Season.

https://racer.com/2023/08/26/indycar-si ... aux-palou/

tl;dr
-Lundqvist remains on track to fill the #8, as does Armstrong in his attempt to drive all the races.
-Ericsson is likely replacing Grosjean and the car will have a new sponsor.
-Grosjean does not consider himself through with Indycar either - a return to Coyne is one possibility.
-Andretti have been contemplating whether or not to keep the 4th car or shrink to 3. One surprising name that is mooted in the case of the first scenario is Calderon.
-SPAM have no interest in blocking Palou's future endeavours at Ganassi - they are only looking for compensation. Malukas and Ilott appear to be the frontrunners to fill what would have been Palou's seat, with Malukas having been on the verge of signing with Special Ed. Although the latest rumour is that FRosen has been offered an extension as well.
-Rahal is also interested in Malukas.
-Danial Frost remains the favourite to fill the #51, but Robb has apparently had success in raising funds to take elsewhere.
-Special Ed has allegedly made an offer to RHR to stay, but if that proposal doesn't tempt him, DeFrancesco and others have also shown interest in filling that seat.
-Juncos has a financial headache as his domestic economy has gone off the cliff and there may not be the money to keep Canapino around. Lots of others with money have made enquiries.
-SPAM's '4th car' would be a tie-up with Juncos, so there may be salvation for the team there.
-Foyt's direction has been somewhat altered with the Penske tie-up. Ferrucci is not under contract (although Penske thought highly enough of him to nominate him as Newgarden's stand-by last year), whilst Pedersen is under contract but is reportedly looking for alternative options.
-If FRosen has been made an offer by SPAM and if he accepts it, MSR's second choice is unclear.
-Daly is still looked at favourably, and there is also interest in the top 3 NXT drivers. Chadwick is working to stay in NXT with Andretti, although with the W Series money having now been spent and the imminent departure of DHL, the family may need to make a greater contribution.
