Wow Ryan Hunter-reay fastest right now with a 228.2. I'm thinking a 233ish pole speed might be possible.

Wasn't watching earlier, was that with a tow?

Silly question: Do any of you guy shave an idea why during practice they enter the pitlane before T3 rather than coming in after exiting 4?

I get the feeling nobody's tried a qualifying setup yet. Almost everyone is in traffic, and the non-tow laps are far too slow for qualy setups. I suspect those are just teams rolling out in race trim trying to get a baseline on their stuff in clean air.

Exciting practice session so far! Track is very busy.

Ok wow so apparently Chris Pine from star trek is going to wave the green flag this year. Omg seriously?? You think they would have picked someone with some history and meaning to the track. Dumb decision.

Didn't they reduce the boost last season, after the airborne accidents? Will it be the same again this season, or have the added safety measures allowed them to give them a bit more again?

It would be amazing to see them somewhere near the records again.

Teams will get extra turbo boost worth 40-50hp on Friday and through qualifying, then back down to normal levels for the race.

No biggie, it isn't THAT important this year, only the hundreth time this race is held. What a way to end the centennial era!

Next year it's going to be Ashley Judd and she'll wave the green flag for three times!

Surely waving a yellow flag would be more appropriate for her?

Racing in traffic looks good alright. No excessive tow, just enough to get a run, and it's not guaranteed either. That's how it should be.

We should race 1000 miles this year, so we can go far and beyond any human before......

Captain Kirk? Cool :)

Though Captain Kirk is from Iowa, maybe he'd have been better off doing it there :D
