Is it just me or are they way to racy for this stage? I feel like I'm asking myself this every year.

They seem to have been getting progressively eager to group up in traffic over the last handful of years.

This year I think the weather is a factor as well. They've already lost a ton of running, and Friday is looking grim, so their practice time has been condensed heavily.

Yeah less practice and they don't tend to make so many big, lengthy changes so they're gonna be out as much as they can.

Getting dark, think this will be it for today.

So, if Friday practice is rained out, how much you want to bet they keep boost as it is.

We have potential for some fast laps but I'm afraid the weather is going to really screw this up, especially since it's only a week between pole day qualifying and the race.

Was there any discussion about not increasing the boost in that scenario? Am I misremembering or did Fast Friday get rained out once in recent years, and IndyCar still increased the boost Saturday morning?

I'm just being pessimistic, you're probably and hopefully right.

Based on the little bit of feedback the broadcast has caught from a couple drivers this morning, it seems like teams are starting to work on qualifying now.

Not everyone. Penske + Palou racing now.

Too many cars at the moment for any decent qualifying practice. I think any qualifying practice will start during lunch and continue until the end of the day.

Tomorrow doesn't look like a complete write-off, either. Mostly showers after 9am, so if most of them miss the track, there should be a decent amount of running.
