Can't was for them to emulate NR2003 AI and do a Cole Trickle when something happens ahead.

I can get behind this, but still my favourite moment of a live crash is when the driver crawls out of the wreckage and gets a huge standing ovation from a relieved crowd.

Then, I can watch tye replays guilt-free

Just wait until they put a robot to drive the car then.

If you like shits and giggles of AIs, check this, I dare you to get to 5 minutes of the video without getting, angry, frustrated, lolling and bored at the same time.

Anyway, this racing series could have huge potential for us race fans. We can finally see some good AI development that can learn any track you throw at it, perfect for racing games with lot's of custom tracks like rFactor.

Racing games have been popular since the beginning of games. I don't see how 30odd years of gaming experience could benefit from this. I can't see this leading to an eye opener that makes jumps in AI development.

I'm sure the technical pitch is aimed more at the companies developing self-driving cars, like Google and Uber. (Though I haven't heard any of those wanting to participate, so I wonder if this series is an answer to a question that was never asked.)

If they were going to do something non-traditional, I'm surprised they didn't do more something like remotely piloted vehicles first. At least a remotely piloted vehicle still would be a racing sport.

The only way I can see people getting interested in AI racing is if they run it under BATTLE RULES. :p

And it is not like racing or video games at all for that matter are the cutting edge of AI right now. Gaming companies could co-operate with university researchers or robotics etc. tech companies right now if they really wanted to improve things.

It will look good on TV because of the surrounding scenery (basically that big old building in the middle + the Seine and Eiffel Tower nearby), but gee, in such a big city filled with a million streets, huge places, boulevards, the river banks, etc), they could have drawn a layout much more exciting than this stupid square.

Disappointed as well, this layout concentrates everything I dislike about badly drawn street circuits.

Are you going? I'm trying to get tickets but it seems they're not up yet.

Speaking of that wonderful track, it would be pretty cool to see it revived for Formula E :flag: :flag:

Might be a bit long though :(

:excited: :excited:

Epic layout, not another 90º turns street circuit, and anything Paris is great for Formula E. Once again, they're showing how it's done.
