What a race!

Another race that proves the only people that have problems with Formula E are those that aren't watching the damn races

Formula E always delivers :)

It's actually going to be a shame when they do away with the pit stops next year, car swaps were kind of unique.

Wonder if they've bought all those LG super lithium cells for the new power pack, might explain why nobody can source them for love nor money at the mo.

Great race, not much overtaking but just very close racing alone is also good sometimes. I hope they introduce some kind of mandatory pitstop next year, the strategy needs to stay a part of the racing. Make softer tyres for the cars and a Tyre change a thing or something like that.

I'm pretty sure Formula E has said they want to keep some sort of tactical pitstop element

Maybe nurse your battery for the entire race or pit to charge it and run flat out for both stints, something like that

It'll need a lot of work to make it competitive but they have time

The batteries are far too big to be hot swappable, unfortunately.

changing batteries would be like changin the whole fuel tank in F1

but Michelin could go to Pirelli and get the know how to the ultra soft tires

I think it's more likely to be plugging something in to charge it up IIRC

I also did read about joker lap style charging sections of track to charge them up, wipeout 2097 style but not sure how legit that was.

Tyre changes probably go against the image and ethos of the series & Michelin too (tyres that last 60 min instead 30 min... wow such road relevance).

Another Formula E epic :flag:

As long as the track layouts are conducive, its always a blast to watch

As fun as that would be you can't really quick charge batteries like that, even the Tesla cells have charging limits, maybe they'll only stick a few amps in just to give the batteries an extra lap or so, or maybe they're going to use super-capacitors? They can be quick charged in that manner.

Have a look on YouTube for flitetest bat-safe review for what happened if you try to quick charge one of these cells.

Guaranteed sparks and flames during every pit stops would def get them a bigger audience tbf :p

I always had a fear for those quick charge rechargers, the current is too damn high and the whole thing could blow like a Galaxy Note 7 or provide a fire like that one from Nick Heidfeld when his kers blew
