So, a new season and the WTCC continues to be the most unprofessional and most poorly run and organised series in the world. And some people have the front to say it isn't  .

"that guy" was also furious and jealous on twitter about Motors TV's New commentator competition, saying they shouldn't be advertising to an amateur off the street in a crowded market place.

You know, the market place he managed to get into because he has a rich, connected dad.
G-r-a-t-e opinions.

WTCC: Race 1s will be team order laden boredoms and race 2's will be stupid because the non Citroens will be desperate to get some kind of result while they try to keep the dominant cars behind them

Fucking great recipe for a series that is.

And I don't watch Rallying much so I didn't know much about their modus operandi but it took me about 20 mins to furiously hate Citroen more than anything
They're the anti-Mercedes. 2 seconds a lap faster than the rest? No racing, boys!
They need some serious negative publicity out of this otherwise they'll continue along these lines.

I completely agree with what Martin Haven was saying about them. Citroen are not going to be liked if they keep up those antics. The optimistic part of me says that they were just taking it easy because it was the first round, hopefully that's the case.

To be honest, I doubt negative publicity would make them change their ways, they did carry on with their "Loeb must win, no one else is allowed" method in WRC for the best part of a decade, afterall.

Well those races were bland and lifeless. I feel bad for Bennani, kind of odd how his penalty was given despite the majority believing he was hardly the aggressor. But then again it wouldn't have made much difference. Citroen would have simply breezed past anyway.

As for Citroen, they were sublime but far for entertaining. I'm not expecting this to be a vintage year but hope to be proved wrong. And how off the pace are Honda? RML have hastily slapped together a new Chevy which a better package than the works Honda team, even in the hands of a vaguely talented utterly obnoxious Briton. Lord above Honda. And just recently they said their F1 effort wouldn't detract from their WTCC focus. LMAO.

Dušan Borković lost one position in the first race after he was demoted from fifth to sixth by a Stewards’ decision.
The Serbian driver was punished because his team removed the SD card from the onboard camera; the penalty consisted of ten seconds that were added to the elapsed race time, which placed him sixth behind Tiago Monteiro.

And I noticed that Bennani in addition to his DSQ from race 2 he's handed a secondary penalty (5 grid spot demotion at Paul Ricard) for the start incident with Coronel. Well clearly Tom didn't value Medhi's friendship.

New plan: lets start a kickstarter fund to pay for Citroen to run a 4th car for Rydell.

We all remember how he deals with team orders, don't we? ;)

It is a sarcastic reference about the incident in the video Jacob posted subsequently.

Did someone say Rydell?

And Campos' second SEAT is only a round-by-round entry, so no Fulin either. Just 18 cars this weekend.

It's also the first round of the ETC Cup, which has 31 entries.

Not surprised, that car was utterly fucked. Having a week between a street course and the next race was a fucking stupid idea but FIA, go figure.

Autosport says only 18 cars will be there this weekend, who else is out?

Edit: Nevermind, found out who.

A little lesson in karma for Tom perhaps?

But yes, seems silly that the first two rounds in a completely new formula are scheduled within a week.

FIA working on regulations for national touring car series

The FIA is working on creating new sets of regulations that could be applied to national touring car championships.

The concept has the backing of FIA president Jean Todt, who told media in Marrakech last weekend that the success of the FIA's cultivation of the junior single-seater ladder provides an example of what can be achieved.

FIA touring car commission president and British Touring Car Championship series boss Alan Gow said: "The FIA has stepping stones into Formula 1, through Formula 4 and Formula 3, and this is what we should be doing with touring cars.

"At the moment the only touring regulations that [the FIA] has got is a WTCC regulation.

"Now it is up to the FIA just to come up with one or two sets of regulations that are applicable for national championships around the world.

"The WTCC regulations are only designed for the WTCC. They are not regulations designed for other major national championships, so it is different to how it was in the S2000 days.

"It is naive to think you could have one set of regulations that the whole world will compete with. That doesn't work.

"We will look at setting a couple of other regulations, which countries can choose to implement if they wish.

"I would hope we have something to put to the world council at the end of the year, so it's a fairly short timeframe."

WTCC EYES FEEDER CATEGORY

WTCC promoter Eurosport is evaluating a revamped set of TC2 regulations as an option for a new WTCC feeder series.

"As soon as the new TC2 technical regulations are set, then we would run a separate championship as part of WTCC weekends," said Eurosport Events manager Francois Ribeiro.

"It may not be the entire championship, as GP2 doesn't follow the entire Formula 1 calendar.

"We would run it separately from the TC1 grid as part of the WTCC weekend, then we would promote it."

The championship is not intended for manufacturers. Cars close to production-based models and modified versions of the existing TC2 machinery are being considered.

"There are many options, but it has to be something that is touring car related and which is extremely cost-efficient," said Ribeiro.

"The season should be maximum 300,000 Euros, and with exactly the same sporting regulations as WTCC, so that drivers can learn."
