Good on him, quite a career he's had. Just wish WTCC had more young stars that can replace the old guys.

(That's not WTCC's least problem, either)

Goodnight, sweet prince. :(

The rumoured move to Class One regulations seems like it would be good for the series.

Class One would be terrible. People can hardly afford to compete now, let alone with more expensive cars.

Idk, seems to work well in SGT.

APPARENTLY, Mercedes-Benz and two Japanese manufactures(I'm guessing Honda and Lexus) have signed on to a Class One WTCC.

There are only 15 cars in GT500 and all of them seem to have some degree of manufacturer backing. DTM is only going to have a field of 18 next year, with all cars being manufacturer-backed. Under TC1 rules, WTCC has yet to muster a field of 20 cars and that includes privateers. The field will be tiny if they move to Class One.

The WTCC is a pointless championship imo. It just seems to be a bit of an anomaly in an already busy marketplace.

let the WTCC become a series for Class One cars and open ETCC for the TC1 cars.

Or, Idunno, use TCR cars, and thus the national series becomes a springboard for world success + there are bigger chances for more wildcards/field-fillers at each individual round.

would also mean there would be a bigger market for second hand cars, which national championship often thrives on.

don't know if WTCC wants to use TCR as it's an idea from Marcello Lotti (the former WTCC Boss from 2005-2013).

Mm, I know...

So now we've got 3 similar types of regulations (TCR, TC1, NGTC) instead of one super set of touring cars (holy shit pun so intended).

Yay for politics!

Whatever Alan Gow runs, the rest of them should run

That's the secret to touring car success.

lmao, there are like 7 cars in GTC, would absolutely make sense to them in the WTCC.
