Virgin Australia Supercars Championship open up their 2020 season this weekend on the streets of Adelaide in the Superloop Adelaide 500 - with 250km races on Saturday & Sunday. Many changes have taken place over the summer, including the shock departure of Holden / GM to the automotive industry as a whole, several team expansions (Team 18, Matt Stone Racing, Tekno becoming Team Sydney) & manufacturer swaps (Kelly to Ford), and package changes to the cars (downforce cut, spec shocks). Scott McLaughlin enters the season as defending champion.

2 new series will debut this weekend at Adelaide:

Stadium Super Trucks returns after a long absence to the ADL500. Along with that return - SST & Boost Mobile will finally introduce the long-awaited Australian championship for the category. Adelaide also serves as the season opener for the American series as well. Notable Australian entries include Matt Mingay - who returns to motorsport for the first time since his near-fatal accident at Detroit several years back, Toby Price & Shae Davies.

ARG will debut their all-new National Trans-Am Series for TA2 cars - with backing from the Trans-Am Series in the USA. The TA2 class has grown in big numbers across the USA, Australia & Asia over the past few years - with the AMRS based series having over 25 entries at The Bend last year. The debut for Trans-Am Australia will feature 19 entries - notables including Aaron Seton, George Miedecke, Jimmy Vernon & Cameron Crick.

Also on the support cards include Dunlop Super2 Series, Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters, and the PAYCE Porsche Carrera Cup Australia.
