Welp, the weather link says rain so hopefully at some point some of the racing will be wet

Hopefully we won't need to test the new runoff at 6/7/8/9 but if we do, hope it does what it needs to. :whistling:

Some controversy already this weekend, as Auto Action has a report stating that Supercars was covering up a penalty when DJR Team Penske used the wrong drop gear ratio in qualifying at The Bend on Sunday.

Supercars' secrecy on the whole matter is a bit suss (this is a pretty standard situation in F1 though), but calling for a penalty to DJR when the infraction itself actually hurt their performance is petty IMO. Can't wait to hear Roland moan about it as soon as he can get in front of a camera.

Bright just got turned into the main straight guardrail in the co-driver qualy race. Also a couple of other cars with damage.

This is insane. Aaren Russell leads a V8 Supercar race now. I never thought I would write that sentence.

Heimgartner buggered up the start of the second race. Reynolds to the lead (Youlden came 2nd in the earlier race having won it last year).

It's also worth noting that Triple Eight pitted for wets in that earlier race and ended up well down the order while DJRTP stayed out and finished 3rd and 4th.

Courtney rips the right front off at turn 6 but he was able to get the car to slide down into the sandtrap at 9. SC out.

Reynolds just holds off Whincup. McLaughlin took 3rd. Van Gisbergen struggled early on and came home 11th.

On a sad note, that brand new XD Falcon (the first actually built to TCM regulations) went in head on to the wall at turn 6 and sustained significant damage in the second race earlier.

great battle at the end of the second heat race. Just glad I was able to watch at least a portion of this weekend so far, just hoping I still have power for the big race tonight
