Best final corner ever! You're Right, Gaara, next year at Thruxton I'll just say "What is this, silverstone?" when the punctures happen. |

Wow. Three BTCC races and only ONE safety car. Crazy. Race one was awesome, as was race 2 until the SC intervention. Race 3 was meh by comparison but still good. |

The tyres yesterday were a joke. Dunlop/TOCA need to stop with the multiple compound F1 bollocks, it detracts from the racing. Thruxton has never even been that bad. Unusually for this season, the Ginetta GT4s produced the best racing of the day. The first race had battles, overtaking and re-overtaking all the way through. Of note was Carl Boardley, who pulled off two great moves around the OUTSIDE of Copse without breaching track limits. He even passed two cars at once in the second move, which combined with his pass of Davies around the outside of Brooklands in the second race, made him my driver of the day. They really ought to do something about the Am drivers though, Fraser Robertson spun off three times in one race and twice in two laps. The Porsche races were pretty solid, too. Battles and passes all the way through, although with a rather buttock-clenching moment for Mark Radcliffe in race 2. And then there was Rupert Martin, who spun by himself out of Luffield, spun again on the grass while recovering and nearly spun AGAIN recovering from that spin. There are three things guaranteed in life: death, taxes and Rupert Martin making a complete tit of himself. F4. Well they're good for a few laps and then just settle into a rhythm and nothing happens. The Clios were really close, but Paul Rivett was the only one making attempts to pass. They all just followed each other around and it wasn't particularly exciting. A bit like a restrictor plate race where everyone gets into single file, really. Juniors, with sadly only one race on Sunday, were close and frantic as usual, but the safety car and red flag turned it into a bit of a non-event. The touring car races produced some typical BTCC action, but the tyres turned it into a lottery. It just got tiresome. There's no point of racing if it's going to be like that. It was nice to (just about) hear Titch again, though. Fail of the day would have to go to the daft bitch who told her son off for cheering in the last BTCC race. She obviously wasn't happy with the world, since she looked like a man. |
