I like the optimism that the new bit will have green grass when the existing track is burnt yellow

Needs more rollover kerbs tbh

Its just so unimaginative and races like crap. Hopefully the soft tyres do something.

It's not like Australia is full of picturesque mountains and forests that are great places to put a track in. Considering 90% of it is flat and brown, I'm thankful just for the fact we have Bathurst and Phillip Island.

the only positive thing I can think QR has is that it seems like most of the track is visible for a spectator. I don't know this for sure, but it seems that way anyways from watching the TV/stream broadcasts.

Maybe if it kept that part, but changed the layout/added some character it would be better.

Overall I like alot of the Aussie tracks in general (especially Bathurst, Barbagallo, Symmons Plains and Hidden Valley)

The bolded part is true, from personal experience. If there are no people in the way in places you could probably see the entire circuit.

They do need to change the layout too. The trouble is that it's almost completely flat. At least this new extension will make it slightly more interesting (presuming it goes ahead).

You can move dirt around to create elevation, you know.

I think It'd be cool to spectator from there, able to get up nice and close to the cars without too much fencing in the way.

Then I remembered this:

Maybe there's such a thing as too close to the action

It's an awful track. I'd like to be optimistic that it could be improved, but I very much doubt it.

And I just saw Jason Heck's car roll twice and end up on its roof in the Kumho race. He was ambulances away but he was able to get on the stretcher himself, albeit a little shaken

Pye is the David Reutimann of Supercars, always seems to have the biggest crashes
