As a side note, that's 28 cars confirmed so far with Speedworks to announce plans and a couple of others to announce plans too. WSR and Motorbase are still to announce their plans.

Hilarious that Autosport still only have Aiden Moffat Racing as an expected entry, considering that they've sent out a press release and unveiled their livery.

Regarding the possible seventh champion, there are only two drivers that it could realistically be: Gio as everyone keeps mentioning or Rydell. All of the other past champions are either signed-up in another series or retired.

Oh I don't know. I'm sure John Cleland could be persuaded could make a return.

Thompson might realise he's on a hiding to nothing trolling around at the back of the WTCC and switch to the championship where the momentum is atm.

Hell, Lauda should bring their cars over here too, then maybe they won't lose both cares to rookie errors in practice :p

Still, there is such a good feeling and a huge pendulum swing towards the BTCC atm, it's really heartwarming as a BTCC fan to realise we've waded through the mire and the good times are here, at least for a little while :)

2014: everything is coming up BTCC :)

Lada don't even sell cars in the UK anymore, which is fine by me because all I can think about is Maureen from Driving School when I see one.

On the subject of cars being sold, I think Proton only sold something like 15 cars in the entirety of last year.

Having Menu back is awesome, it is about time we had a couple of international drivers back in the field. Having Gio would be the icing on the cake.

Best news the series has had in a decade. Get the proper professionals back. Menu, Giovanardi first, then get the rest.

I've taken most of the possible entries away now, as we now know that the licenses have all been given out and UA are the only 'new' team on the grid.

Why have you left Andy Neate as a rumoured entry?

Nick Tandy is still with in a shout? Thought he would be racing his factory Porsche.

May throw a curve ball here. But maybe might not see Onslow-Cole in a BTCC car at all?

I think he may go Endurance Racing.

When are Aston Martin announcing their driver line ups?

N.B this is just speculation coming out of my head

I'm not 100% sure where the 32 license has gone yet, so just holding on a bit.

But there was an intention to sell the Chevy anyway, and build more. It's unlikely he will be on the grid, but I am keeping my options open just now.

But you've kept Neate on the list (highly unlikely) yet Gio isn't featured (likely).

We'll call it lazy editing.

It seems WSR and Motorbase's line-ups are set and Speedworks is now coming together. We should find out the rest of the grid in the next couple of weeks.

From the BTCC Twitter page:

Quote:
A busy and exciting day behind the scenes at #BTCC. Further exciting things on the horizon ahead of the 2014 season.

Keep an eye out next Tuesday as well, Alan Hyde has said on FB that tin-top Tuesday is going to have something special on it.
