Had a nightmare myself, set the recorder to tape the BTCC, went out to the motocross and for some reason it didnt record it!

I think I'm going to have to agree with Plato there, the turbo was supposed to equalise the use of alternative fuel not give it a massive advantage.

But I do wish he'd stop moaning about it mind.

I think BTCC are being quite clever with their "switch" to alternative fuels...

Let the green option have a performance advantage and a lot of people will be tempted to switch over.
Then once everyone has, you have your equality AND BTCC gets to publicise how is the greenest championship on the planet, and all without any stern "you MUST run green engines by 20XX" type rules which might put off potential manufacturers.

I was at Snetterton today and sadly that was the worst day of racing I've ever seen at a BTCC event. The Ginetta Juniors were very good, the G50s were ok, BTCC was poor, the Formula Renaults, Porsches and Renault Clios were just pathetic. Absolutely nothing happened in any of their races and I slept through more than half the day. Not what I expect at a BTCC event.

You should have stayed at home and you could have fallen asleep on the sofa infront of the telly.... like i did!

but you are right, apart from the Ginettas and the last BTCC race it was a pretty dour day all round.

I should have done, it was horrifically hot at Snetterton and when I awoke from my dozing I'd turned all red with sunburn. :(

I did manage to catch a few incidents at the Esses today...

Chris Swanwick takes out Louise Richardson in the first Ginetta Junior race:

Louise Richardson recovers and passes Jody Fannin for the win on the final lap:

Two Ginetta G50s collide:

The complete mess on the opening lap of the second Ginetta Junior race:

Your not the only one man. Standing up near Russell/Revett bridge most the time... you couldn't actually feel any breeze at Russell :(

And erm. Yeah. Go Louise. Such a great looker *cough* driver :flag:

It completely saddens me to have the Clios now lumped into the "boring series" category...:(

Oh well, they're going to Knockhill soon, they can't be dull there....RIGHT? :8:

Ten mile an hour advantage on the straights 8O

I don't know where people are getting these numbers from, the Fords are 3mph faster at the most. They have an advantage because they accelerate so quickly, top speed isn't much different to any other car.

I think TOCA should consider reducing their boost pressure rather than keep giving them smaller restrictors.

I think TOCA should leave the hell alone, realise they've stolen a march on their opponents and hope they all switch to the same engine if they want to keep up.

That way you get your equalisation AND a greener series you can crow about in press releases, without any draconian rule changes mid season...

However, they'll probably peg them back even more just to shut Plato up, and with the amount that guy gives out, who'd blame them?

There have been awesome 12 car Mini races at the Hill in recent years so with any luck...

Finally I managed to watch the three BTCC races last night. What is Plato's problem with the Fords? He is leading the championship handsomely, has arguably the best car, isn't realistically being challenged by either Tom and yet still manages to complain about an unfair advantage. Has Plato forgotten that just a couple of seasons back he had a very similar "unfair" advantage or is his memory somewhat patchy?

It's called selective memory.

Yeah absolutely. It is also pretty pathetic.

Yep, it also seems to happen with his memories about driving standards as well.

Oh yeah

On that subject I thought Matt Neal handled the question about Rob Collard's race 3 move very well.

I wasn't going to comment about this because I couldnt be arsed raising the points, but since you've allready taken the liberty, I will reply. You are absolutly spot on.

I was/am maybe the only Plato fan on this board, don't ask why, I've just for some reason always liked the guy (maybe because I use to watch 5th gear who knows?)
But this year he really is getting on my tits with this Ford crap.

His team has the option to run the same motor if they please, it's not a Ford exclusive. He's leading the championship by a fair margin over the Fords especially.

Also, It's not like a Focus is even winning every race, and every pole (F1 Ferrari circa 04')
I really don't get why the fuck he's complaining so much about it anymore. Sure the Focus, in a straight line will out accelerate anything on the track, but that's about it, it certainly isnt the best car in the series and I bet RML's budget is alot bigger than AON's.

AON made a smarter investment and Plato isnt happy his factory team is getting beat.
