First race is green, Shane turned Percat around on the first lap

Jack Smith to the lead because he was the only one who didn't pit. This could get interesting...

Actually he's pitted now, welp.

Both Triple 888 cars with penalties, bad day for them. Though Whincup's is a 15 sec post-race penalty so it may not hurt him too much if the race stays green.

And McLaughlin got a 15 sec one as well for passing someone before the start/finish line on the restart. All of the big guns are making silly errors today.

Anton gets his first win in the championship.

Today's races were not that interesting. McLaughlin took race 2 from Whincup and it was the other way around for race 3. There wasn't much overtaking probably because most of the front runners were on the same strategy.

Schedule for this weekend.

https://www.supercars.com/news/championship/schedule-set-for-corestaff-darwin-supersprint/

Only changes from last weekend is that there will be all soft tyres instead of the soft-hard combination at last round. Also there will be some local Improved Production support races this time.

Has the VLC motorsport stream died on any one else?

McLaughlin wins race 1 from Whincup

Dull race at the front but more interesting down the field.

Race 2 goes to McLaughlin again with SVG just holding off Pye for 2nd. Whincup lost more ground to Mcl in the points after finishing 6th.

And McLaughlin makes it 3 from 3. Percat got 2nd from Pye and Winterbottom got 4th after a good battle with SVG. Whincup finished 7th after some early contact with Waters, not a great day for him.

Post subject:  Re: 2020 Oz Supercars & Supports | Townsville #1

The first Townsville race is up soon. Whincup is on pole but McLaughlin qualified 16th after a mistake.

It's been a big week for news. Repco is replacing Supercheap Auto as the Bathurst sponsor (and possibly Virgin Airlines as the championship sponsor), and Channel 7 has apparently signed a 5 year deal to provide the free component of the TV coverage. There's been conflicting reports as to whether it'll be similar to the current deal or have more free coverage. Also Tailem Bend is apparently going to fill the gap between Townsville and Bathurst, instead of Ipswich.

And that's a big mess at turn 1, probably half a dozen cars damaged at least. McLaughlin made it through with some small damage and got up to 8th.

Whincup wins easily.

McLaughlin ends up 7th

Some good battles late in the race.

Does the Motor Trend app not have these races on demand anymore for folks in the US? I have checked and only see the first round of the season listed in the archives.
