But if you go into 2012 still claiming you want parity, you're pretty daft

Well yes of course, that is the way you, me and all the other fans see it but, if you go into 2012 with rules clearly stating parity then that is what you'll be expecting.

There's a good article on Autosport.com about the 2011 rules parity issues. It actually defends Plato (written pre-Rockingham).

If Honda switch to an N/A engine and qualify 1 - 2 at Brands...

What would Plato moan about then? :p

He'll moan that changing to N/A engines during the season is 'cheating'... :p

That won't happen. What will happen is that Alan Gow will have to find new and more intruiging ways of manipulating the rules to continue hamper the Honda twins.

Just a reminder we should get a look at the Thorney Motorsport Insignia this either today or this weekend as they intend on doing a press launch today, then public open days tomorrow and Sunday.

If I was dynamics I'd change one engine to N/A and keep one Turbo just to play it safe...

As to who gets who, bring the drivers into my office, toss a coin, offer them heads or tails then tell them to deal with it.
No need for a Webber tantrum for the one who gets the slightly less competitive engine

And then whoever ends up with the slower package told to put Plato into the druids gravel, get out and smack him round the chops so hard he can't whine in a post race interview.

Then stick a bomb up his car so he can't take part in the rest of the season.

Then bribe Alan Gow to bar him from the championship so he's resorted to going banger racing or something more suited to his talents.

Then get someone to hack his computer so he can't frickin moan over twitter any more either.

Then sleep with his wife causing her to leave him.

Good luck with that, Shedden! :p

As much as I could write about how unlikely it is that someone at Alice's level will even make it to F1, what exactly quantifies 'successful'?

Slightly disrespectful to Lella Lombardi and Desire Wilson.

For some reason I thought it was this weekend. Oh well see it in a couple of weeks or so.

I think being in a half decent car and regularly scoring points. Lombardi only scored her half point by reaching the finish line in a race where very few did. Of course she didn't have the best car so it's difficult to judge. In terms of females in motor racing, she obviously has some very impressive stats, but I assume the article is talking about outright success, not gender related success.

Difficult to really judge Alice at the moment, but no other female driver can boast a Formula Renault championship. She'd be 4th or 5th this season if she hadn't have been punted out of podium places at Thruxton. She's starting her career more impressively than say, Danica Patrick.

Realistically I think Simona is the only top lady racer that could do reasonably well in F1 at the moment, but it is nice to see some in the junior formula doing well. Maybe in 5 or 10 years we could have another girl in F1.
