That thing they just said about Dave Newsham passing 17 legends cars in one lap is no urban legend - I was one of them!

On board please!

Was it under green? Did he use the same track as everyone else?

Need to see this :whistling:

Sorry, just saw this.

It was in 2007 so my memory of the whole thing is hazy - I remember it happening though as I recall him coming by me into McIntyre - I looked in my mirror at the bottom of Duffus - nothing. 150 yards further on and he's alongside me. Almost went off in surprise.

Of course, 10 years ago the Legends had a big push by the SMRC with scholarships and some semi-subsidized rides going around as they were pushing the series (the Minis weren't quite as big as they would become yet) as it was BY FAR the most popular north of the border. It had TV coverage on Motors plus the BTCC support races were live so we had 32 cars out at maximum. Most of us were total amateurs compared to the handful of pros like Newsham, Jon Jon Higgins and so on so it really wasn't hard for someone of his talent to make up an amazing amount of time on the chaotic first laps when a lot of us would be much more circumspect with our expensive machines.
