Post subject:  2010 World Superbike Discussion

We haven't had one before but I think it would be a good idea if we have a general thread for discussion bike racing other than MotoGP, including World Superbikes, national championships, road racing and the rest

Firstly, some sad news - a rider has died from injuries he sustained in a crash in the senior race of the Manx GP. John Goodall, 67, from west Wales, had just received the Spirit of the Manx award and featured on the front cover of this year's programme

Guess I've changed my mind, and today can serve as a test case for if we need a WSBK thread for the rounds or not.

Some other rumor for 2009, according to Frankie Chili.

Yamaha: in talks with Tom Sykes for a full time WSBK season, substituting Haga.

Ducati Sterilgarda: Xaus off to Bmw (already official) and Max could get the boot (will Aprilia enter and offer him a ride?). Polita and Brendan Roberts might replace them.

Ten Kate Honda: Jonathan Rea instead of Sofuoglu, demoted to Supersport. Not a real surprise.

Guandalini: to fuse with "an American team" with Jake Zemke as a possible rider. Will they race Hondas then?

Honda is probably done in AMA. Leaving Erion with nothing to do.

Aside from having their butts kicked badly by Suzuki for the last few years and having a flat out non-competitive superbike, Honda is not at all happy with what DG and the AMA are doing with the rules for next year. More Honda support for the WSBK teams.
