It wasn't unique in the years of Rossi v Capirossi v Biaggi. But they weren't as common as the Marquez v Pedrosa v Lorenzo.

I had to do a research what was the previous race with no Spanish on the podium in any class. Laguna Seca MotoGP-only races don't count.

And the answer was 2005 Chinese GP!
