If Rossi vs. Lorenzo from Catalunya doesn't get the Speed Performance award for best finish/best race of 2009, it's highway robbery.

One of the best final laps I've seen anywhere!

Was friggin awesome, edge of seat stuff and Rossi surprised Lorenzo with the move at that point on the circuit I think. props to Stoner, sick as a dog and could hardly stand up when he got off the bike but still managed a brave 3rd.

This championship is between the two Yamaha's though, the Ducati simply does not have the pace.

People talk about how good Rossi and Stoner at Laguna Seca was last year but, to me, this was 10 times the battle that was because it lasted the whole race and didn't get decided until the final corner. What an absolutely incredibly race that was, one of the best I've ever seen in any category of motorsport.

Its the kind of thing you see in 125cc but not MotoGP - there was a good race in 2006 where there was an epic battle but cant remember which race; might have been Assen with Hayden and Edwards, but not as good as this

The out-braking into T1 on the penultimate lap got me well out of my chair and I didn't sit back down until the race was over. Never thought Rossi could pass in the final corner, when he did I was sure he had to go well wide but no, incredible. How he got that bike in there I will never know!

F1 is a fata compli this year but MotoGP is far from over. Don't think we've ever seen a three way tie for the riders standings.

That and Portugal 2006. Two Hondas down early on, only for Toni Elias to emerge as the (unlikely) hero of the day, carving up the track and narrowly avoiding crashing on virtually every corner ...

Sadly English commentary seems to have been a casualty of time on YouTube so we don't get the classic that was Randy Mamola explaining how Elias was slowing the bike down sideways using only his foot, not the electronics of the bike, his foot ... with Julian Ryder chiming in "He sure as hell isn't doing it with his brain!". Fortunately for all concerned, it's still in my head.

Are they the commentators that do the superbikes?

Can someone explain why ONE do not go to international commentary during the MotoGP and why we are stuck with Rust and Beattie?

The british commentary version of Estoril 2006, such a close finish.
