Yeah probably isn't the right word. Not very often that someone wins ten races in a row in anything, especially in the matter he has. Other than Mugello, no-one has really got a look in.

For sure, he's got my respect, especially after the Le Mans and Sachsenring performances.

The scariest thing for the rest of the MotoGP elite is that Marquez is only in his 2nd season of the premier class and he's breaking long standing records.

He has 17 victories in just 29 races. Freaking mental.

I don't see anyone from the lower ranks that is impressive enough to take him on. Just hope Yamaha get' its form back because I still think Lorenzo can take him, Rossi maybe as an dark horse. And we need to have back Stoner...

Since 2011 @ Le Mans every race that he has seen the chequered flag, he has finished on the podium, except one (Mugello, Moto2, 2012) :8:

Of the ones he didn't finish; 4 crashes, 2 DNS and one DQ.

We really don't, unless he's had a massive attitude adjustment since the end of the 2012 season.

Marquez is simply on another planet. Even at Rossi's peak we witnessed something very different.

Ah come on :p . I don't like his personality either. But some opposition to the current domination wouldn't be bad. And he has proven to be an excellent driver on that part. If Audi want to turn around things at Ducati they should just hire him. We wanna see the best riders fight each other right? Of this era that still are Lorenzo, Marquez, Stoner and maybe Rossi (if he isn't over his top already). Pedrosa has proven he doesn't have the 'it' factor.

I like Marquez personally, just not the domination that comes with it. Glad he is just like Rossi in his better years. Pretend to have a shit start and fight to get back to top, instead of just flag to flag wins.

Circuit of Wales in Ebbw Vale gets a 5-year deal, first race being in 2016. Looks like it's in place of Silverstone: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-28778032

Going to a track without full funding, with no start date for building.

Great idea Dorna.

This smacks of Donington Park's attempted F1 venture...

Quote:
Next year's event will take place elsewhere in Britain but it is hoped the circuit in Ebbw Vale will take on the remaining four years.

You seen the proposed design of it though?

My cynicism over the event was replaced with hope that it actually does come off due to one reason: INCLINES!

And not just UP, but DOWN as well! :p

This has been planned for the last few years. The people behind it are serious. I notice that the Autosport article was sneering at it, saying it has been "beset by problems", but I've been following since it was first proposed and I haven't noticed anything of the sort - there were a couple of minor planning issues but the Welsh government has been behind it all the way, pushing it beyond some of the protests against it from environmentalists

It just needed a race deal to kick-start the construction, because you can't build an international level circuit (especially here in Britain) without the guarantee of major series there any more. They've said from the beginning that getting a MotoGP race there was the main target, and now that they have it in their pocket, they can get on with building it. From that, other things will follow - BTCC, national series etc. It's going to be the only facility on this scale west of Thruxton, let alone just Wales

Will it be a FIA Grade 1 circuit, so suitable for Formula 1? And more importantly, is Bernie's fuckbuddy Tilke involved?

It'll be Grade 1T. They've said since the beginning they have no interest in hosting F1 because they know what a mess it can cause

Haven't seen Tilke's name mentioned. It's been designed primarily for bikes

Seems a bit of a leap of faith to me, i read it requires £50M government funding, which I would be very shocked if that came thru, kinda why Bernie took so many races off to paying countries in F1, European and especially UK government are not interested in coughing up for these things.
I'm sure the developers are serious about the idea, but I wouldn't hold out to much on this one.
Plus Silverstones location is great for any big event, its slap bang in the middle of the UK, moving it to a crappy drug infested low income area in South Wales can only hurt attendance, and after they have killed the TV audience in the UK by switching to a PayTV channel they wanna kill trackside attendance too.....

Great plan Carmelo :tumble:

Jack Miller is probably gonna go straight from Moto3 into MotoGP :8:

He definitely deserves to be there, but its a massive jump to skip Moto2.

Well there have been a lot of guys who looked incredible in Moto3, who became quite mediocre in MotoGP. Moto2 has become a bit like GP2/F3000. Too many old drivers who take the good spots (like Kallio) thus hurting the development of the young drivers. Motogp needs to impose a age limit IMO because Moto2 has become quite useless the last years.

Mika Kallio was 26 when he started in MotoGP. Lol at the suggestion that is old!
